Note: My thanks Allegrita for her oh so welcome feedback! :flowers:
This is from Mick's POV, and the title gives the scene away, ridht?! ;-) I hope you like it! :ghug:

Another's touch

Not too close... it doesn't mean anything to her.
She's just grateful, still a bit upset, a bit... confused.
It's not because she cares about me.
She doesn't even know me, who I am, let alone what I am.
She'd be gone in a flash if she did.
It doesn't mean anything to her.
It means everything to me.

Yes, I can see Mick thinking this exactly. And he would relive this moment even if he never saw Beth again.

Good job on the challenge!

:thanks:

I love that hug scene. If Mick saying "Ouch" grabbed my attention, that tentative, uncertain, fearful acceptance of Beth's embrace, and the way he bent his head down till his nose touched her shoulder, caught my heart. You can see him thinking these things... and then he comes in with that velvet voice, talking about sixty years without the touch of another. He's so afraid to open himself up, but he can't help himself. He can't push her away. Not Beth. :rose:

This is really lovely. It gave me chills, and it put that beautiful scene right into my mind's eye. Thank you! :hearts:

This is lovely, diane, and your words mirror Mick's thoughts perfectly. :rose: That hug meant everything to him and so does Beth.

Thank you so much for your comments! :rose: :ghug:

I was so afraid of posting this, I love that scene soooo much. Well, of course we all do! :snicker: It is so perfect, so moving and so special - I still remember watching it for the first time, and sensing just then that I was going to get hooked to the show! :cloud9:

Thank you!

Diane, this is just lovely. :hearts: It's so quiet and vulnerable. And so very Mick. It's just filled with conflict and guilt... and hope.

I love it. :happysigh: :notworthy:

Lovely addition to a wonderful scene. MIck's expression and body language during that hug really do make it seem as if that's exactly what he was thinking. You've provided the perfect words for this moment!
