Have there been any good reviews? Does anybody who's seen it like it, not love it, just think it's ok?

This is the only review I've seen so far of the actual first episode - all of the previous reviews were of the original pilot or the revamped pilot (that is now going to be shown, maybe, at some undetermined point in the future...).

I didn't know anything about Moonlight or Alex, Jason, et al so I had no expectations going into Moonlight's debut. Didn't even see the first episode until a Saturday rerun and then only caught half of it. With TR, I've seen so many clips, pics and articles and I want so much for Alex to have a good show that I'm getting really anxious. Arrrgh! Best not to read any more reviews I guess. Particularly if they compare Alex to Dr. Welby!

By the bye, back in the dark ages, I had a Dr. Kildare (never Ben Casey) blouse I used to wear to school. And there were trading cards for both Dr. shows. But we only collected Dr. Kildare. :rolling:

 You had one of those shirts too jmc? What a fashion statement back then. And of course, we had to unbutton the top button like Dr. Casey. Loved those corny shows! Just read a good review of the new TR version on TRF. This person couldn't believe it was the same show. Said it was like CSI:Transplant. To me that was a compliment, since the CSI shows are so popular. Have to admit I love them too. :cheer: :rolling:

Yeah--I heard about this one. More "actiony" in feel. I think they showed this one during the NCIS's...

Oh, wow, that review really smarted! :mdrama: I hope the reviewer was just a smart-arse ready to unleash his hatred of medical dramas. It was rather amusing review though.

I'm trying not to be disheartened by all the bad advance press...but I learned something else last night that made me go :sigh:

Carol Barbee was an executive producer on the ill-fated series "The Beautiful Life," which was just canceled after 2 episodes on the CW. That's three strikes, people: Jericho, Swingtown, and now TBL.

The woman is obviously incompetent as a manager and showrunner. She has bungled Three Rivers as well--look at all the problems they've had, and the show hasn't even aired yet. I'm beginning to think that Three Rivers will fail too, if they don't get rid of her.

With so many really good people looking for jobs, why is Carol Barbee still working in Hollywood?!?! And why, oh why is she in charge of Alex's show?!?!?! :banghead: :witsend:

I felt this since day one, if CBS wants to keep Alex, and keep him happy they will do what needs to be done, and if Carol needs to go as manager and showrunner big deal, here today gone tomorrow, thats Hollywood. For me right now, even with reviews lambasting this show, I will make up my own mind after Sunday night. Either way good or bad, I watched Alex on Bonnie Hunt, I don't know if it is politically correct to say that a man glows with happiness, but that man seems to be glowing, and he did not seem like a guy that was worried that his new show stinks......

Finally, something positive - not just about Alex but the show in general, based on the whole two opening episodes. I'm still waiting to make my own mind up but this makes me feel a little better.

I hear ya Alle... but I seem to remember that she has some several-year deal with CBS. So if 3R tanks, she is still employed. Alex is not. Makes NO sense, as it is Alex who will bring whatever audience they get, large or small. But recall, Dearheart, this is CBS of which we speak... so :wtf: !

And yeah, liked reading that Variety article. Hoping hoping hoping hoping hoping... infinity hoping...

Amen. I refuse to let a CRITIC tell me what I will and will not watch or enjoy. I'll be making up my own mind whether or not the show sucks, thank you very much.

Personally? Alex is a hot commodity right now, thanks in no small part to US, the fans. If this show doesn't make it, there will be more opportunities for him. He's gorgeous and talented and his fans love and support him and are VOCAL about that love and support.

I want Three Rivers to make it, but if it doesn't, I'll wait patiently for the next chance for Alex to wow the world!
