Maybe while not being surprised about the cancellation he was still going forward with the approach that everything would work out well. Maybe that's the only way he feels he can give a good performance - by not preparing himself in advance for what-if possibilities.
I know I wasn't surprised at TR's cancellation, but I was still depressed hearing the news and sad the first 9pm Sunday when it should have, but wasn't, on.

Totally agree! Alex seems to be so darn optomistic and determined that he can overcome anything that it probably hits hard when he has to change direction - even when he sees the signals.
Perhaps Kuol gets his heart or finds out he doesn't get a heart. Probably touching scenes with Andy. It must be REALLY hard to film a TV show when you know it's cancelled. Requires a triple hankie
Well (I'm guessing) this was a big break on network TV for the actor - and he got lots of positive feedback and, I would hope, a really great working experience.
Well, I was delighted to get to "know" him... and to get another 6 hours of Alex... but I surely would love to see the remaining 4 eps. It KILLS me to know they're out there somewhere... just out there...

He seem truly grateful.
Could it be that since he's filming on the last day (and presumably the last episode) that Kuol gets a heart and gets to live?
I hope this is the case, as his death would seem so pointless.
Well... we can hope. Tho Will Bryant made it thru most of the movie too, and his death scene was incredibly memorable. Sometimes actors love a good death scene... ask Mandy. But I hope Kuol makes it... otherwise he's kinda a metaphor for the damn show, huh? You can replace parts but still not manage to survive??
