Well, I understand what you all are saying and I agree with it. However, the more I watch ML, the more little "problems" (script glitches, inconsistancies, etc) rear their ugly little selves... So, I end up forcing myself to knock down my analytical tendancies. When these things happen Mr Susie and I just look at each other and one of us says: "Let go and just let the art wash over you."

So... I still think the grey door is meant to indicate the freezer room.

Most of the doors are probably the same.

I think the writers couldn't decide where the gray door actually was. When Mick leaves and gives Beth his warnings he tells her not to go upstairs. And then adds or through the gray door. If upstairs is already off limits why add that?

Yet it seems whenever Mick retires, he goes upstairs.

Just to throw another thought on this into the mix...I recall when the series first aired, there was some comment along about that time concerning a future ep where we would be introduced to a "weapons room"--and somehow I always thought that might be behind the gray door. I know in FtP, there was no weapons room--it was a niche in the bookcase. So maybe something got changed for budget reasons.
