"Maybe it was her blood in my veins that let me feel her. The beating of her very living heart. Or maybe, we've always been connected." Mick & Beth - Moonlight
I agree with everyone else - this is wonderfully visual. A scene like this could have been so distracting if you had to spend time working out who was where and what they were doing - but this was wonderfully done and incredibly exciting as a result. And I just loved this line:

As others have said here, I felt like I was watching it play out on screen! No, I felt like I was there!!! A great action-packed chapter. Slade took to his new nature very well!!!! You are an evil cliffie writer!!!! I'm very worried about Sally now!! I love your writing and I love this story and I can't wait to see what happens next...

Perfect sentence, perfect chapter. Now, please save Sally. Penina
Wonderful job Lucky, action scenes are difficult and you managed this one with flying colors. This story has more cliffhangers than a cactus has spines! Every time it gets delicious it gets prickly, and somebody ends up bloody.
(okay small pun there)
I loved the tie ins, the perfect level of action, narration and imagination, and the fledgling finding his hunger. I like all the others here are eagerly awaiting the next installment.
