I'm so glad this bubbled to the top....re-reading this was just as incredible as the first time....as before, this reduced me to tears
Her heart swelled with pity and carefully disengaging his arms, she dropped and knelt at his side, and as their gazes locked, she saw veiled deep within his beautiful eyes a vision of night after lonely night, existence with no hope of warmth or companionship or joy, spinning on into infinity.
and now, she understands the price of his immortality and what she can do to ease his pain.

Beautiful, Luxe :rose:

And I'm embarrassed I've only ever commented on this one once! :blushing:

This piece is simply glorious. The reader aches as they feel Mick's complete loneliness, winces as Beth extracts the bullets from Mick's back, and this part just slays me every. single. time:
Luxe de luxe wrote:Time stood still as she applied the cloth to Mick’s wounded back reverently, in a series of unhurried caresses. The delicate strokes of the washcloth along the length of his torso mimicked the gravity of a religious ritual; a handmaiden tending to her master; an act of worship.
That is SUCH a beautiful paragraph. :cloud9:

Luxe

What an artist you are.

In this lovely fic, that I still cry through no matter how many times I have read it, captures so many of the deep truths of Moonlight so exceptional well--1. Mick and Beth's mutual dedication is here. Although they are only becoming aware of it, it is already strong and deep in both their hearts; 2. Mick's desperate loneliness and Beth's determination to ease it; 3. Mick's astonishment at Beth's response to him.

Fabulous.

Thanks!

Jenna

Yea, I guess what Jenna commented spoke my mind, they are so great together, so good for each other...even when realizing things for the first time, still it fits in their mind so well. I loved it Luxe, thanks :flowers:

I think it's a testament to the power of this story, Luxe, how many of us reread it, and feel compelled to comment again. This is just such a beautiful story, filled with strength and compassion and such an amazing rush of love.

I like to think of Mick and Beth in this place of love, where they are absolutely willing to sacrifice for each other, to kill, or die for each other--and best of all, to live for each other. :hearts:

Here, MLC... :hankie:

I just love to see this one come up in Active Topics, because I just plain LOVE it.

The strength of Beth, the vulnerability of Mick, and Beth's realization that she would do the same for Mick as he did for her is so moving. This one's a classic in every sense of the word. :cloud9:
