Thank you, Red. I'm truly humbled you think this fic hit the mark so well.
This is the moment I fell in love - with Mick, with Alex, with Moonlight. This is the way I would have loved to see the scene continued.

Re: Suffer Not Silently (Champagne Challenge #103) PG13
There is just so much raw emotion in this scene. Such agony, and yet so satisfying.
When I first watched it I was blown away by the power of that little snippet (I think we all were) and noticed the details of how they reversed who was the individual who held all the power and who was the supplicant.
Beth towered over Mick on the floor, when Mick spoke, the pitch of his voice going up at the end of his short phrases emphasizing that he was begging her to leave...
They pulled out all the stops and a lot of us fell in love with a vampire and a show.
And I never was that attracted to vampires.
Go figure.
Thanks for this. It was absolutely lovely. Again!

Thanks, jen.
And I agree with every single word. This scene is where I fell completely and unreservedly in love with Mick (and became an Alex O'Loughlin fan for life) - a love that's as strong today as it was in 2007.

Saving one of the best for last. I've been re-reading all of the He's a Vampire stories and have been amazed at all the different directions authors took but this really nailed it down to the Josef phone call.

A wonderful reminder of that pivotal and hugely important scene, when the roles of vampire and human were reversed and the vampire was helpless and pleading with the human to be left alone.
Fabulous expansion of a scene that was waay too short!
Thank you!

Oh Wow!
This is just perfect! It is so Mick! And so Beth! And so, so beautiful!
This line all but broke my heart - in a good way:
Thank you so much for this gem of a story!

This has apparently popped up for air several times and yet I had missed it until now. This is just how it happened, I'm sure. I could see this play out in my mind, and you certainly got inside Mick's head for this. The last line was perfect.
I was a little surprised Beth actually left at the end, and then I was half expecting her to meet Josef in the hallway. I see you did do sequel so I'm off to read that next. It's hard to remember there was a time when Beth didn't know who Josef was.
