Wow, Mo's thoughts and conclusions were right on and very fair. She weighed both the positive and the negative of beth's traits, but lukcy for us the positive traits won out! I like how she thought Mick was a trade up in the boyfriend department (as we all agree!)

Great re-read , Jenna!
That woman had quite an eye! Snarky ,too!!Most women would consider exchanging a D.A. for a P.I. trading down, but I’m not sure I’d agree in this case.

Thank you so much for bumping this piece up!
Maureen was a very focused woman. In her element (and that was Buzzwire) don't think she missed much. She probably sized Beth up quickly when she first met her and probably wasn't far off. I remember a couple of telling scenes when she grilled her reporters or employees if what they were looking into was for a story. I took that to mean that she expected her employees to share her focus and dedication. Not an easy thing to do. I'm sure she noticed Mick and she probably sized him up, too.
I wish she would have lasted longer. Would have been interesting.

Thank you for reading and leaving the lovely comment!!
Mick and Beth certainly did dance around their mutual attraction. Maureen must have found that amusing.

I really like this portrayal of Maureen. I think it sums her up perfectly.

Thanks, Cassy
Supporting characters in many shows and movies essentially are mirrors for the leads to reflect in, but in Moonlight, the supporting characters were just so good. Everyone had their own personality, characteristics and viewpoint that were well developed by the very first episode.
Thanks for reading this old piece again and leaving the lovely comment!
