Eh - Mick's so conservative, he probably doesn't even know those songs. He'd probably insist on playing "Jimmy Crack Corn (and I don't care)"...

Re: This changes everything (PG-13, Mick-Beth)
Jen---if one would assign political parties based on personality and history, then Mick would definitely fall in the conservative realm. He's old fashioned. Strict moral code. Believes in enhanced interrogation'. Etc. Beth is a young, brash reporter. A feminist. Stringing 2 guys along at the same time
Free love and all that! I'd envision her more of a liberal.
So glad you liked my little story

thanks honey!
Grace--puff the magic dragon?!?! I don't recall Mick smoking weed!!!

Oh come now! Mick lived thru the 60s...
Tho Alle may be right about the even older folk tunes. There's all those railroad ones too. They're his generation, huh?
You know, my kids have never learned a single American folk song in school, except for Puff, back in kindergarten.
If they slum in school choir, they sing Queen.

If you read a lot of books you are considered well read. But if you watch a lot of TV, you're not considered well viewed. Lilly Tomlin
Grateful to Alex for Mick, Andy, and McG.

Re: This changes everything (PG-13, Mick-Beth)

Had a reference in one of my fics that never saw the light of day where Josef reminesces about attending Woodstock with Mick and Coraline. He brought a stash of blood but Coraline thought that they could...sample the local flavor? Anyway, Mick sees a scene where a young girl gets her heart broken and decides to kill herself and overdoses on LSD. Medic Mick snags an IV setup and hooks in all the blood that Josef brough that matches her type, halfway drains her and then plugs in the IV line before the drugs kick in. Coraline and Josef find him standing out behind a line of old porta potties staring at the peeling paint and muttering about all the pretty colors...
He has his wild side but he has a good heart.
Mick and Beth--two of the lovely faces of Moonlight

Okay this is hysterical. Beth and Mick will just have to agree to disagree and cancel out each other's vote.

Dsr--
you're too kind
This was a fluke! Had an idea and wrote in super fast and posted before I lost my nerve. I don't know how you all can write such beautifully long fics. I have zero patience. I just wanted to get it done. That is why I'm better with the 3 sentence snarky posts. That's my comfort zone.
Carol---isn't that how elections are? You cast your vote then a friend tells you they voted for the opposing candidate and you wonder why you both bothered! I take the political process seriously (pr as seriously as one can nowadays), but I'd switch parties in a heartbeat for Mick!

If they can't have fun why do they call it a PARTY?
Great humor here....really made me giggle!

Oh good Bob, how could I have missed this?

I'm about ready to kick you outta the Mick-lovin' Society, Fleur.

You are far more open minded than I am, Fleur, 'cause I'd react like Beth - despite all the Mick allure. There are some lines I just can't cross.
Loved it. Off to read the other "one."

I wrote this little thing so long ago as a lark and yes, I was conflicted even 'going there'. But I kept reminding myself that it's fiction, much like Ms Palin herself!
Yeah, I went there in my head with the moose comment as well! Now go post your drabble, woman!

Re: This changes everything (PG-13, Mick-Beth)
Just stumbled across this, and discovered such complete delight! Poor Beth, after all she's been through in this relationship, finding ways to make it work at last..... And then coming across that fateful letter.
This is just hysterical. (And truly, I really can imagine that Beth would have a far easier time dealing with vampirism then with Republicanism!)
