Mick can't do it without her... but I pray that she can help him do it.But in an alternate universe where Mick never found a way to say "I love you," where he stayed mostly in the shadows and never dared to show her his feelings... yeah, I can see this happening. And Beth will make herself a tolerably happy life, and will pour her love into that child... even though she never stops looking for that elusive shadow that slips by the corner of her vision.
