Trevor Morris, composer of "Saving Josh"

Post by allegrita »

Trevor Morris has a very nice web page. http://www.trevormorris.com/home.html

ETA: And a Facebook page. http://www.facebook.com/TrevorMorrisMusic

And he has been busy! He's doing the music for "Chase" on NBC, plus he's been nominated for a Gemini Award (described as the Canadian Emmy) for his work on "The Tudors" for Showtime.

One of the really cool things about his web page is that he has a player with some of the music he's done for his various projects.

I'm watching "Secret Access: The Vatican" on the History Channel and in the background, I recognized Trevor's music from "The Tudors". It fit very well.

Trevor has won an Emmy award for Outstanding Original Main Title Theme Music, for Showtime’s The Borgias. Congratulations, Trevor! :hearts: :clapping: :yahoo:

This is on top of Trevor's Gemini Award (Canadian version of the Emmys) for his work on The Tudors. It's so good to see his wonderful work gaining so much recognition.

Check out his Facebook page for pictures of the Emmy ceremony (and him holding his award!), and scroll down for pics from the Geminis. :teeth: https://www.facebook.com/TrevorMorrisMusic

Trevor also mentioned on his web page http://www.trevormorris.com/home.html that a film he scored, Immortals (directed by Tarsem Singh), will be released on November 11th... and season 2 of The Borgias is in production, so his scoring work for that will begin soon as well. :hearts:

Thanks for posting. I thought Trevor used to have a link to "Saving Josh" on his web page. I don't see it anymore but was glad it was on Youtube. Still makes me misty eyed. A wonderful melody that was perfect for Moonlight.

Here's a short video about Trevor Morris' scoring of Immortals: http://www.iamrogue.com/roguetv/video-j ... rette.html

Also, Trevor will be at the Grammy Museum in Los Angeles on Tuesday, November 8, for an installment of their "Reel to Reel" series.

Here's part of the press release:
LOS ANGELES (Oct. 2011) – On Tuesday, November 8, 2011, The GRAMMY Museum will host Immortals score composer Trevor Morris to the Clive Davis Theater. Morris continues the Museum’s “Reel To Reel” series, which regularly features film composers for live demonstrations, production panels and screens music-themed documentaries and films. The discussion takes place on the same day as the release of the Immortals score.

“As a Museum dedicated to the study of the creative process, we are delighted to host such a fresh, innovative composer,” said Bob Santelli, Executive Director of The GRAMMY Museum. “We’re thrilled to offer fans the opportunity to engage in conversation with him on the same day as the release of his latest score.”

2011 has been an incredible year for Trevor Morris, receiving two Emmy Award Nominations, three Gemini Award Nominations, and earning both his second Emmy and Gemini Award Wins. Trevor’s cinematic and thrilling score will be heard in the visually-stunning 3D epic adventure film Immortals, which will be released by Relativity Media on November 11, 2011.

Trevor just posted a link to an article about a game he scored, called "Dragon Age: Inquisition." http://www.ea.com/uk/news/listen-to-the ... nquisition The article, which is an interview with the game's audio director, says very complimentary things about Trevor (well deserved, too!) and includes a link to the title theme, composed by Trevor. The music is really inspiring! It makes me want to go off and conquer stuff. :swords:

Trevor Morris has made a very cool announcement on his Facebook page (shared with his permission):
Trevor Morris 5 hrs ·

Hey Friends, I have a cool announcement, A Gift for you and a Favour to ask.

I'm excited to share with you all "Trevor Morris Unreleased"

This is a collection of my music that never got a commercial release, cues that went unused in some of my TV & Film work, cues I pitched with for projects, Sketches I have done that never aired, things like that. I'll be digging through my archives to put out music that you have all asked for over the years (when possible, I don't own the rights to some things) and rare gems that never saw the light of day.

For instance I wrote a Main Title theme for my first show "E-Ring" that never flew (they hired Trevor Rabin to do the title sequence). But as an exercise I wanted to create a Military Action Heroic theme in 3/4 meter, since Military is always in 4/4. This is just one of the little gems that no one has ever heard that I'm excited to share. I'll be adding more content each week and will announce when new material is up.

That's the Gift to you, my music available to you for you streaming pleasure

Now The Favour:
If you enjoy what you hear, Please make a little playlist and let it stream away!!. I'm hoping to get global awareness for the artist name and generate some income that I can use to further Education Through Music (as everyone knows, my charity of choice). It's a win win on so many levels to my mind.

I posted up today 6 original concept sketches I wrote for "Vikings" (which never got used) which have never been heard. You can stream / buy the normal OST soundtrack release under my normal name. I Also posted under TMU some unused cues from "Kings" and a few others.

I hope you have a chance to give it a listen. Drop me a line if you like what you hear, or have any requests that you'd like to see get posted up.

You can search and find my new artist name in the usual places (see below).

Thanks for listening,

Trevor.

The music is available for purchase or streaming, I believe. When he gave me permission to share his announcement here, he said he will be putting up Moonlight music, too! :hearts: His exact quote: "YES ! I promise to put some Moonlight up there, its one of my most requested old scores" I think it's great that he plans to use the money to support Education Through Music, a very deserving charity. http://www.etmla.org/

Oh my goodness -- how wonderful! :yahoo:

Even though I have a copy of "Saving Josh" from way back when, I would gladly buy a copy to support his music and his fabulous charity. :hearts:

I love so much of his music. I've even bought a few video games themes that he did, because I thought they were so cool. :teeth:

I feel the same way. And something he said on Facebook once made me think that he wrote some of the incidental music for Moonlight, too. I'd love to buy an album of his Moonlight music! :phones: :hearts:
