Joel Silver has bought a historic building in Venice, California, and plans to repurpose it as the new location of Silver Pictures. The building used to be a US Post Office, and it is a gorgeous place--I've been there many times, buying stamps. They closed the Post Office this year.
I'm not sure how long this LA Times link will work, but the story is available here: http://www.latimes.com/news/local/la-me ... 0443.story

Cool! Sounds like he's a great steward of historical architecture, in addition to his other talents.

As we suspected, this article kinda confirms what probably a lot of us thought... (and it mentions the Post Office building, Alle).

Honestly, if that man were described in a novel, everyone would think the author was totally over the top. Nobody'd believe the story!
I guess he just thrives on risk and gets by on a sort of brash charm. And the money of other people.

I'm a Ryan Gosling fan so I came across this for his latest movie, The Nice Guys, which was produced by Joel Silver.

Re: Joel Silver - Producer
Remember when Joel Silver bought the former US Post Office in Venice, California? He said he was going to turn it into the HQ for Silver Pictures. Well... not so much.
It's become a huge, decaying eyesore, and his neighbors are very unhappy. http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/p ... oul-947550

Ughhh.

If it weren't for the fact that he was the one who pushed for Jason to play Josef, I'd be hard pressed to say anything positive about the guy.
