I just keep thinking that they may all be mentioning Julia now as the main attraction but once they see our man act on screen, it's going to be Alex, Alex, Alex all the way

Yup. Alex has a way of lighting up a screen and taking a mundane character and making him rememberable. I have no worries that once he gets in front of that camera, he'll light it and everyone else around him up with his charm and charisma. The camera adores him.

They could be attempting to keep the hordes of admiring fans at bay as well!
I have no worries about who the main attraction will be once they're on screen together either.
Thanks for the update MLM!

Wait till the first time he looks into the camera, people hear that magnificent velvety voice and see that man act. Ms. Ormond, though a lovely woman and talented actress, will be an afterthought!

I understood why KDKA would mention Julia instead of Alex on the newscast but now they're just ticking me off. They wrote up the bare basics of the story for their website and mentioned 3 cast members...none of them Alex! WTF?! It says: "Actors including Julia Ormond, Katherine Moennig and Daniel Henney will make up the cast." link
How the heck can he not be included in at least the top 3? I know he'll capture all the attention once he steps on screen but still, he deserves some love and recognition for the skill he's already shown.

His publicist, if he has one, has got to get to work. I have said it before and will keep repeating myself---he needs to get his face out there in whatever way he can. A small blurb in US weekly or People about the previous ML vamp and what he's currently up to. A feature on Aussies on television--what with Simon Baker, Alex and that new young hottie on Kings--there's a lot of publicity to be mined. Get out to a premiere--have a photo taken, get a small interview on ET.
I may have to move back to Cleveland just to make the Pittsburgh commute and help get this man's name and face out there. It's frustrating--look how much press meaningless reality show 'stars' get. Surely, there has got to be an outlet for him to be seen in.

I don't think Alex has a publicist, just an agent. I know he didn't have one during Moonlight, so unless he's gotten one since then, I don't think he has anyone out there pushing his face out to the media. I remember during Moonlight we used to scream for the man to get himself a publicist to get him on the talk shows.

He definitely needs a publicist if for no other reason than to get his OWN DAMNED NETWORK to spell his name correctly!!VAsusieQ18 wrote:I don't think Alex has a publicist, just an agent. So shall we band together and promote the man ourselves?

Why would he NOT have a publicist? Surely he has a clue... and even his agent would have a clue, no? Why wouldn't his agent suggest a publicist if Alex IS clueless?
He can be quite mysterious sometimes... and quite elusive. In fact I remember the TVG guy once referring to him as the "elusive Alex O'Loughlin." Maybe he has some reason... but it does surely drive us insane.
I don't worry so much (and really, how often do you see ME type that I don't worry??) about the pre-publicity at this point.... but once the show DOES get filmed, he needs to have a presence in the upfronts to sell it... and to insure that his part is what he wants it to be...
I agree the cameras love him and so will viewers... and Julia Ormond will bring in viewers that Alex won't... just like he'll bring in viewers (me, for one) that Julia won't. That's symbiotic. But he can't let her get all the publicity. Not once it's filmed. He'll need to hog some of the spot light at that point.... and I think that may be hard for him.

Did anyone else read somewhere (sorry I can't find the link at this moment) that Joaquim de Almeida has joined the cast of TR?
I liked him as the bad guy in Desperado

Yup, Joaquim ususally plays the bad guy!
Last time I saw him he was on "24". He's a great character actor. Love the accent.
But I am a bit worried about how these 3 medical pilots all seem to be adding some bigger names to the cast. Donald Sutherland is now in "The Eastmans". Great actor. Each show is obviously doing everything it can to ensure a strong cast, thus hopefully scoring points with the networks and advertisers for a season pickup.
For someone not even in the industry, just a vested bystander, I don't see how these actors, writers and crews, hell even the producers get through this stuff year-to-year without having a frickin' nervous breakdown!

Just a thought on why Alex isn't getting mentioned in these articles - it might just be because he is the only one who hasn't been officially confirmed by CBS (as far as I know).
Although I agree completely about the worrying lack of a publicist.....

Did I see a post they are starting to film today? I am going to be late for my own funeral, I was in the Pittsburgh area, all day yesterday, visiting family and friends, and had to return some gifts back to Macy*s. Any way!
I am going for the eternal optimism here (because it works so well for me
). Let's say, before we all have strokes, one of the reason Alex did stay with CBS , after you know what hit the fan, that he was promised a new series in the fall and all he had to do was pick the part. The only ones he needs to make happy now is CBS, and didn't he already do that when they signed him on? IMO who cares what a Pittsburgh station is reporting, what is important is the done product, what actor is going to make the biggest impression? We seem more upset about this than Alex seems to be, and he seems pretty darn good!

Oh N! You are just a ray of sunshine this morning! Must be due to the effects of supposing him to be somewhere in the general vicinity of you, huh? I bet the LA fans get that feeling alot, but new to the Pittsburgh-area fans... (and of course utterly unknown to me...
).
It's hard (for me at least ) to stay cheerful... but I am delighted that one of us, at least, is... you can carry us for the day, Sweetie!
