Re: The Ringer (Episode Seven)
Morgan played them both like they were keys on a grand piano in this scene and I loved it! They were totally on the back foot. They expected her to crumble when they showed her the impossible evidence on Mottola - it was priceless! They really had no idea what was going on - and Josef, who is always in control just wasn't sure if he could believe the contrasting information from his eyes and his nose. Poor Mick. Manipulated into having even further contact with her, and its seems that he's just not sure how that happened.

That's what makes this scene so much fun. The guys thought they were so smart - checking her out, making those looks at each other. Meanwhile she was so cool and knew exactly how to play them.mwj01 wrote:LOL! I loved this scene! And again, kudos to ALL concerned for playing it absolutely straight. It was marvellously done.

Re: The Ringer (Episode Seven)
Jumping in late to the discussion...
I loved Josef's facial expressions in this scene...he's all
I think he seems genuinely (sp?) confused here...which leads me to believe that he didn't save Coraline from the fire, (as some have speculated) or else he would know he's dealing with the actual Coraline here...
The Ringer is one of my favorite episodes because of all the Mick Josef interaction.

Re: The Ringer (Episode Seven)
Okay, Morgan has left. Now Josef and Mick are alone to discuss what they think.
Josef admits that Morgan looks just like Coraline - a doppleganger. Everyone has a twin, right? Josef seems to have forgotton his own initial reaction.

Mick doesn't seem to be listening to Josef. He's pissed that Morgan didn't even flinch when he brought up the dead Matola. The nerve!

Josef once again tries to convince Mick that this woman (this human woman) is not Coraline. Coraline can NOT be human. Coraline coming back is one thing but she can't come back as a human. Mick answers with a 'but'.... Josef counters with there are no 'buts'.

Mick wants to know - what if it IS Coraline and she's somehow reversed it? Reversed WHAT? Mick tells Josef he doesn't get it - what this means.

It means that Mick's losing it. No, it means that she's found a cure. A cure? There IS NO cure for vampirism. If there were, he would know about it. Not that he'd care - he has no desire to go back to the mortal coil. Mick responds that that's him, he would.

Josef tells Mick that that's his entire problem - there is no way to unbecome a vampire. Mick changes the subject a bit and says that he thinks Coraline's return has to do with Beth. She can't stand to see him.......with a human?.....happy.

Josef doesn't like to give advice but he does it anyway. He tells Mick that one day he's going to have to stop hating what he is. They silently look at each other for a few seconds. Mick gets up and leaves.

I love this scene so much because it underlines the difference between Mick and Josef. Josef wants so much for Mick to accept what he is. Mick wants so much to be human.
Also, although much hasn't been said, it's clear that Mick has been thinking about him and Beth as a couple. Enough so that he thinks Coraline would feel the need to come between them. Mick is even thinking in terms of being 'happy'.

The Unraveling of Mick. Poor guy was really coming apart at the seams. Their devious plan to trap her was foiled.GuardianAngel wrote: Mick doesn't seem to be listening to Josef. He's pissed that Morgan didn't even flinch when he brought up the dead Matola. The nerve!

Re: The Ringer (Episode Seven)
Ah! So true, GA... he has dared to be happy and d@mn... *itch slapped by karma! And Cora.
I find it interesting that he is so quick to grasp there might be a cure... the thought does not seem to occur to Josef, unless he's just trying to protect the truth of it... but Mick immediately grasps there might be some cure involved. Which lets us know he KNOWS it's her. He isn't fooled. He will allow himself to be fooled a bit later in the cemetery... but he knows. He even knows the motivation for her resurrection at this particular hour.
Now, that was fairly cogent. May I be allowed to say, one of ALex's most handsome scenes EVER!!!!!!!! This was my first full ML ep. Can you blame me for falling, hook line and sinker, for the actor (tho I had no idea what his name even was at this point) IMMEDIATELY?????????
And mwj... We LOVE the unraveled Mick, so we not?????

Re: The Ringer (Episode Seven)
Nope, no one, but no one will blame you for falling hard and fast for the handsome vampire Sister!
Yes, Mick knows it's Cora, which is why I think he's pissed in that scene that she's just had the upper hand once again. And it does seem odd that he immediately thinks "cure" but maybe it's because he's often dreamed about there being one.

Aw, thanks Hon!
I'll have to update it with Dr. Andy
and Stan, which unfortunately means one or two may have to be eliminated. I already know it won't be Michael
and of course not Mick or Kevin or...

This scene tickles me. Mick so rattled and so peeved!! How dare she!! Hah--she's totally got them buffaloed, both of 'em. And she's not even in the room with 'em!!
Now, that's power.

Re: The Ringer (Episode Seven)
yep.... this scene is all gooey goodness as far as I'm concerned.....
firstly, a rattled Mick is a sexy Mick (ok, granted, an [insert anything you like here] Mick is a sexy Mick). And I'm with grace... he knows on a deep level that this is his wife, its funny, because usually the most sensible thing to rely on is your senses, but his senses here keep pointing him in the wrong direction - she's human, she's human - and this is why he's so confused.
And I just love it when Josef gets firm - someday Mick.....

Re: The Ringer (Episode Seven)
Good point, Luxe. Yes, Mick's senses are telling hime one thing but his gut is telling him another. So the vamp would have to say, 'no', this is not Coraline (like Josef is) but the man, the PI knows this is Coraline. Besides the fact that if it IS Coraline, he just might have his prayers answered - there's a way back - and he SO wants that to be true.Luxe de Luxe wrote:yep.... this scene is all gooey goodness as far as I'm concerned.....
