Is TVSquad reputable? WIth them saying that 3R has been greenlit, I just wonder how much credence can be given to that. I know that is not official until Wednesday---just wondered where they ranked as far as believability.

They're just bloggers, so take that as you will. I think they just post about what they've seen written about elsewhere. Nikki Finke is just a blogger too, but she's a blogger with actual sources in the industry.Fleur de Lisa wrote:Is TVSquad reputable? Another question SirenSong, what about Variety and THR, I took them as being pretty big hitters in Hollywood, really knowing what they are talking about..SirenSong wrote:They're just bloggers, so take that as you will. Variety has amended the title of their article. The text is exactly the same but the title has changed from "CBS greenlights three dramas" to "CBS closes in on three dramas". Looks like the sub-edit got a little carried away with the earlier version.
As I say, no cause for panic, the text is unchanged, i.e. Three Rivers has been instructed to start hiring writers.

At this point, I think only THR, Finke and Variety will have my attention. They are the most reputable and get word first.

I'd say that someone "in the know" contacted them about the legitimacy/accuracy of the title.redwinter101 wrote:Variety has amended the title of their article. I do find Nikki Finke's wording interesting though. NCIS, TR and The Good Wife have been instructed to hire a writing staff. Miami Trauma has been instructed to "make offers". Slight difference but could be telling. Maybe MT is going to be a mid-season show and the other three set for the Fall schedule. Or maybe I'm just reading too much into it.

ETA: Order enough Xanax for everyone, Suz!! We're gonna need it!

Juli, that is how I read it, too. She very carefully worded them differently. I was thinking TR needs to get started now while MT has time to "make offers" for the midseason.
Probably not wise to mix Xanax and wine, huh? So I will continue to have my wine.

BTW: Alex has added new comments to his MS. I wonder if he is going nuts with all this speculation today!

I honestly hope he stays the hell away from the drama. Heck, if its driving us nuts, I can't even begin to imagine what he must be thinking/feeling! Of course he may already know what the verdict is but can't say anything. Or he may be as in the dark as the rest of us...
Like I said, time for a xanax!

So my fear continues to be that CBS is USING 3R to negotiate down Jerry Bruckheimer... as in make your show cheaper or we're going with 3R... so is this irrational??? Or is this a possibility??
And Suz... I've just gotten home from a church dinner... but I'm now going for the wine!!!!

no, it's not irrational, certainly not any more than the actual process might be...who knows, maybe if the decision will be based on whether or not dinner gave TPTB heartburn or indigestion. Maybe they just flip a coin.....
pour some wine for me, too, grace.

Re: Three Rivers - news, links, discussion - part 4
New article at Hollywood Reporter. Nothing new but Three Rivers still positive.
CBS on Sunday moved closer to renewing bubble drama series "Cold Case" and reliable midseason replacement "Rules of Engagement."
Sources said pickup deals for both series are pending, with "Rules" possibly looking at another 13-episode order.
Over the past few months, "Case" has been in a horse race with fellow Warner Bros./Jerry Bruckheimer-produced veteran CBS crime drama "Without a Trace" for a spot on next season's schedule.
Both series posted ratings upticks during the May sweep, "Cold Case" with its Pearl Jam stint.
As of Sunday, the prospects of "Trace" didn't look good, though the series was still in consideration for a possible midseason order.
Also not looking good to return as of Sunday was veteran CBS drama "The Unit."
Meanwhile, it's shaping to be another strong pilot pickup season for Bruckheimer.
After one of his two pilots, "The Forgotten," was picked up to series at ABC, the other, CBS' medical drama "Miami Trauma," was given the green light by the network to begin staffing.
The move, considered a precursor to a series order, follows approvals for CBS' drama pilots "Three Rivers," "The Good Wife," the "NCIS" spinoff and "U.S. Attorney."
If all five are picked up to series, CBS would have two medical dramas ("Trauma" and "Rivers") and two legal dramas ("Wife" and "Attorney") on the schedule next season.
