Post by redwinter101 »

Sniffed out by Kelly and VASusieQ @ TRF, here's a tiny article on Alex from today's Parade magazine: http://www.parade.com/celebrity/2009/07 ... eries.html

My husband told me about this today. I am away. For those not in the States Parade Magazine is a national magazine that comes with the Sunday newspapers in a lot of cities. Something like this or a feature article is what we had hoped for a year ago but it didn't happen. This is really good publicity (even better than TV Guide - not sure of their circulation anymore) for Alex, Back-up Plan and Three Rivers. Won't help in getting Moonlight back I know but maybe with enough votes, there could be a movie. Not holding out much hope but without trying, there is none. Thanks.

TPTB still didn't get it right. I'm 'over the moon' that Alex has a new series and I hope it's a huge hit, so please no tomatoes. :tomato: However, what they missed is that Moonlight with it's storyline, (arc from week to week), cast chemistry and noir filming techniques was worth a second season. Not everybody wants to watch the typical rom-com's, procedurals or reality shows typical of TV today. Moonlight in the Friday night 'death-spot' was doing just fine.

Putting Alex in a movie and a new series doesn't undo the cement based thinking of TV exec's. This is apparent, to me, because Alex's new show is a medical prodecural. So did the net's get it...I see no evidence of TV programming change reflecting an alteration in thought process. Will I go and see the movie? Sure, I can't wait. But I like variety in my TV viewing...and I love my vampire shows. Had they changed ML into Moonlight CSI - No, just no!

And just because I can be fickle...had HW gotten his way and introduced werewolves into season two I would have been incredibly unhappy. Probably more unhappy than cancelling ML after 16 episodes. :dracula:

There is a place to leave comments, if you are so inclined. And, there is also a poll with the article where Moonlight is one of the choices. I did the poll...why not?

What a treat to open the Parade section of the paper this morning and be greeted by a gorgeous photo of our talented guy. I think TPTB know they 'effed up' and are trying their best to capitalize on his talent and burgeoning star power. Of course, there will probably never be an admission of 'effing up'. Basically, they just needed to listen to us---we knew what in the hell we were talking about as far as ML was concerned! When will these people learn?????

Regardless, at least Alex is finally getting the notice he so deserves.

Yes it seems that for Moonlight this Parade piece was a year too late. And that show itself a year too early. If only the timing has been different.
