"How long until-?"

"Not long enough." Coraline tried to hide her revulsion, hating the power they had, the power to make her tremble and doubt.

"We can still run, get away from this place." The hope, the longing, sang through Cynthia's whisper. "I can take care of you."

Coraline stiffened, raising herself from their blanket-bound foxhole. There was ice in her voice. "So you see opportunity in my humiliation?" She pulled her knees to her chest, closing herself, shying away from the tentative touch at her shoulder.

Rising from the bed, she crossed to the mirror, the quiet light catching the swish of her hair. She could hear Cynthia reaching for the right words to soothe, failing to a mumble. "Well?" She spun. Cynthia flinched.

Returning her attentions to the reflection, slipping the chemise from her shoulders, she calmed, lost in satisfaction at her resolute beauty. The duties of her position were fleeting while her so-vivid life was permanent. Time was her ally.

She felt Cynthia behind her, arms curving around her waist, cheek pressed to her neck and she allowed herself a moment of concession. Stroking across circled arms, Coraline relaxed against her friend, lover, companion. She knew the power she had, the thrall within which Cynthia was captured, unable and unwilling to escape.

The coming attentions, whoever her purchaser was to be tonight, could be forgotten here.

"Help me get ready." Command, not request. She turned, teasing a stray blonde lock back into order. "Help me?"

"Always."

Now this is my type of slash, because it didn't read as slash. It read as devotion and friendship borne of many, many years and experiences together.

But damn that Coraline for enthralling everyone she comes in contact with. Man, woman, it doesn't matter.
However, if you ever pair her up with an animal, that is where I will have to draw the line!

Woll, thanks for taking the plunge! My view about slash is that it is purely a genre that involves m/m or f/f relationships or settings - and therefore has exactly the same variety of tone, content and rating as m/f stories. That's what I was trying to show with these G/PG stories. I know that there is a lot of porn in the slash-verse - but there is in m/f areas too. Slash doesn't have to mean that. Not in my world anyway
