Couple of comments: love Jen Aniston--and for a 40 year old, she looks fantastic. She positively glowed in Marley and Me, and, I have always been a team Aniston gal. Mostly because if I could pick a celeb to look like, it would be her. She's not a stick and has that classic California girl look.

And how much do I love Jason Bateman? He is great and if you haven't watched Arrested Development,you are missing out on a gem.

As far as J Lo--personally not my fave, but she is a beautiful woman, and recently watched part of The Wedding Planner again, and she is good in those types of roles. I can definitely see her and Alex making a great on-screen pair.

Does anyone know if Alex tested for this role or audition for it opposite her? Just curious.

I like her too... do NOT get the Pitt... exchanged her for Jolie? Don't get it...

That and Bernie Mack, which used to air together actually, are my two favorite tv shows of all time...except of course for ML... which is just on a whole 'nother plane... or puts me on a whole 'nother plane... something like that...

Don't let one blogger get you upset. She may be looking to make a name and probably knows that Alex raises a few comments here and there. I would venture to guess that she, because of her job, is aware of what all the important mags talk about, and Alex is always there.

The best thing to do is totally ignore her blog because she would love a lot of controversy and hits on her article. The best way to get her is ignore her. Also, a lot of Latino mags want all-Latino artists, and Alex doesn't qualify. (And for the record, I am Italian and my husband is from Mexico City, so my family is Latino.) My guess is they wanted a Latino male.

I don't really care who is across from Alex in a romantic comedy because I will just be pretending it is me!

I'm with Team Aniston too. I follow her way back from Friends. Her movies have been blockbusters one after another and she can really draw in the audience with her comedic timing and wholesome girl-next-door charm. For instance, Courteney Cox is a classic beauty but Jennifer ends up being a bigger star.

As for J Lo, I hope she can still draw in big audience. She did movies with big names like Matt McConaughey, George Clooney, Ralph Fiennes (and the late Natasha Richardson), Billy Campbell, Wesley Snipes, Jack Nicholson, Jane Fonda, and Ben Affleck .. Compared to those names, Alex is a newcomer. I think the blogger on the Latina site was concerned (and needlessly harsh) that Alex won't draw in the needed audience to launch a major comeback for J Lo. Fanatic fan stuff that we know nothing about.

There's a poster on MLD named Moonlight32 who says she has a friend named John who went way back with Les. A number of us over there have been speculating about CBS' plan B for Alex all winter long and she said that her source also confirms a Plan B... Little did we know what she heard was THE Plan B. I lamented about whether there'll be a Plan C earlier and went to the other board to find her post about Plan C.

Anyway, according to her, Alex has been in negotiations for this movie even before they brought J Lo on board. Okay, I guess there's no harm if I'll copy her post here. Take with a grain of salt.

Checking in after my "fact-finding mission". First, it is my understanding that this movie has been in negotiations for a while and yes, it is part of Plan B for Alex. It will be a big screen movie. If TR is not picked-up, then Alex has this movie. If TR is picked up, LM and CBS will work with Alex so that he can film TR and the movie also. The second part of Plan B or Plan C, if you prefer, is that Alex will still film this movie, but he would be added as a regular to a show already airing on CBS. At least, according to John L. that is the current plan. John L. also told me that rumor has it that August Rush may be re-released on the big screen, but that's still in the talking stages and he wasn't able to get a date or any other info on that.

Now, the down side. Sorry. Alex's co-star. Jennifer Lopez's last movies have not been big box office hits and there is some concern about that, but she landed the role. John L. thinks Alex would be better with a female co-star that's a box office draw, even though LM knows most of the people coming to see this movie, or so LM hopes will be female and will negate the lack of Jennifer Lopez's ability to draw a big box office in her last movies.

Finally, my information is "yes" Marc Anthony is a "jealous control freak" and will probably spend " a lot of time on the set".

Yeah, we got no rabid fans in our pond... But I do think her fans are as enthusiastic as Alex's... and there's apparently not much crossover between the fandoms, which is interesting. It means we get a chance to like her and they get a chance to fall madly in love with him... it'll work out. The blogger may legitimately be concerned about Alex bringing nothing to the movie...and if she's never seen him... she's in for a wonderful surprise (or he... is the blogger a he or a she??).

And I did not know Marc Anthony was a jealous control freak... that's a bit creepy, tho fortunately, he's a little guy, no? And better he be on set with JLo as the female lead than Alex having to romance Chloris Leachman... Bad Fleur, bad bad Fleur!!!!

Him being a lead in any movie is huge for his career at this point. Between now and then, who knows the twists and turns that J Lo's personal life could take--which seems to boost her box office appeal, and if 3R gets picked up and becomes a certified hit--all the better for the audience for 'Back-Up'.

And a re-release for August Rush?? That makes no sense to me, but, what do I know?

Regarding the "no name" blogger...if I were a J-Lo fan...and don't forget, she's been paired with some pretty famous men...I'd be upset if I felt she was being paired with an actor I never heard of (and I never heard of Alex before Moonlight). So with that in mind, her blog is an honest assessment of how she feels, not an attack on Alex. She just needs some reassurance that Jennifer is not getting shafted...in fact...she's going to be riding on the Alex rocket to stardom. By the time this movie is released...Alex will be a familiar name to her and I wouldn't be surprised if she's an Alex fan by then too. So I provided a little reassurance...

Hi Monica. I understand where you are coming from, but please...give Alex O'Loughlin the benefit of the doubt on this one. He will NOT be a drag on Jennifer's career. You may never have heard his name before, but you will be hearing it a lot more this year. He's got a prestigious acting education, his work in Australia is phenomenal and his work in the U.S. is amazing and is what caught my eye...and I'm a fan for life. And I've never done the fan thing for any actor. Sure, he's a relative newcomer in the U.S., but the magic that happens when he's onscreen will insure his success very quickly. Trust me on that.
