I know I'm weeeeeelllll behind everyone else, but I'm just back from watching BUP. (It's only in theaters here since Thursday though).
I'll keep it short, I LOVED seeing Alex on the big screen

some scenes (that I hadn't already seen) were lough-out-loud funny. Although I did miss his real voice.
Apart from the first two rows the theater was full, and my friend and me did enjoy ourselves.
I'm still looking forward to seeing the movie one day with the original voices though.

SNL references The Back Up Plan in it's opening skit!! They were joshing about the oil spill, and one of the solutions was to just forget about it and go and see JLo's new movie, The Back Up Plan--"because at least that would be good for a few laughs."

Woot!! Too bad they didn't mention it a couple weeks ago, but still, that is cool.

I watched it yesterday with my mom. The theater was 2/3 full but it was a smaller screen. It's a small town after all. The only big screen was for Robin Hood and Ironman2.
The audience enjoyed it and laughed at the appropriate places. I laughed a lot too and my mom enjoyed it a lot. She told me it was a great birthday present to take her to the cinema. She would never go on her own.

Really nice honey... two birds, one stone! And a lovely day with your mom.

By the way, there was a poster in the cinema for the remake of "A-Team" and the tag line was "There is no back-up plan". A woman next to me said while we all waited for the room to open for BUP: "Oh, and I so wanted to see that." We all laughed.

I saw the first review of The BUP on Aussie morning television this morning and the news is good! Richard Wilkins (the entertainment reporter) gave it a good review - said Alex was wonderful in the role - and had a swipe at those who automatically trash anything J-Lo. He said it was better than most rom-com fare from hollywood and deserved a go. That cheered me up. Didn't make it any easier to get out of bed on a cold morning, but I was a happy Luxe when I did.

As of today, BUP is no longer playing in our town.
I saw it 5 times... I'd see it again... but I can't.
Tho someone posted somewhere the DVD will be out this summer...

I went looking for info on the DVD release: no luck there, but I did find these box office figures on IMDbPro...
Budget $35,000,000 (estimated)
Worldwide Latest gross: $41,161,835
USA Latest gross: $34,561,835 (18 May 2010)
I honestly don't know enough about this sort of thing, but the movie's in the black and that HAS to be a good thing. Add DVD sales on top of this and I'd say they did pretty well.
