YEs... no love. That's what some commentary was saying about the Feeder/Gainer thing. There is actually, usually, love. Michael and Deirdre DO seem to have some of it... or Deirdre does and Michael fakes it well...
One of the outtakes shows him reading her poetry... which apparently is a typical thing for F/G's to do...

OK, i have a question about Germany. They passed the, um... bits of the guy sizzling in a pan... and then they went upstairs. What was he eating???

Early focus on the wedding ring... THAT'S one of the intriguing storylines for me. Yeah Michael and Deidre seem to have a non-normal but caring relationship, but all through, it's shot through with lies.

I'm not sure Michael is totally faking caring. He just has his extra principle about consumption is evolution.
