The town I live in, if you go to the local park and throw a rock, you'll hit a guy as well-built as Alex. Walk down the street (any day) and you'll see guys as well-built as Alex. Go to the beach ... you get the picture.

Oz is a very tough land to live in, and until the past few decades, most men did hard physical work 7 days a week. (In country areas, they still do.) Genetically speaking, I think that favored strong men. Apart from that, your guess is as good as mine. All I know is that Aussie men really know how to wear their jeans...
