Raven wrote:A college student was an extra on Three Rivers and she posted her experience on MLF. She had some very funny interaction with Alex that will warm your heart. Her screen name is anastasia cullen and she graciously told me to post her story here.
So the show wrapped tonight and they'll find out on may 20 if it's picked up. not really any word that they'll return to pittsburgh to shoot the rest of the season, but definitely will for exterior shots. i loved being an extra, it was so much fun and i learned so much (i want to get into creative side of the movie business) alex is hilarious. he's such a smart ass, just plain funny and pleasant to be around. he had a lot of say in what went into the takes and shooting. he always remembered my name and said hi every time he saw me. he's very easy to talk to and i just goofed around with him most of the time. i'm a huge die hard fan of his, but i did watch moonlight every friday night as i got ready to go out last year at college. one of the girls brought the feed dvd today and the two of us left in the extras holding room watched the first ten minutes of it right before going to set. honestly, i think that's all i needed to see, it looked really screwed up. alex saw us and said hi right away and we told him we were watching feed. he goes ohhhhh my goddd.. i was like yeah that's what i said too. he asked how much we had watched and i said the first ten minutes .. i saw your ass and he goes yeah you'll see my ass a lot in that movie, but we can talk about that later...

we had the most comfortable OR scrubs. the top was a stretchy, cotton tshirt and scrub pants. let me tell you, they did a nice job of picking out a shirt for alex, you could see every muscle in his arms and back.

Haha how does he smell? Umm ha I wasn't really paying attention. He definitely doesn't smell bad. We asked him about the tattoos from Feed, he said a few of them are real. He was always wearing a long sleeved shirt. He said that his dad told him he always wanted to be a thoratic heart surgeon, so it's fun for him to play one on the show.

For one scene we started at the same place and he was like ok I'm ready let's go and I said yeah Mick let's do this he started laughing and said omg did you call me Mick? That's awesome! Then before the next take the other two girls and I were talking and he said ok ladies behave. I was like no you behave he goes I can't! It's not in my nature.

You should be able to see me in the ICU. I walked right past him and Justina. I was always in the background. Also in another part in the hallway by the nurse desk. I'm by the desk talking to a nurse. I wore street clothes for that and had on jeans and a pink sweater. I was the only one wearing color so you definitely see me there haha.

The cast was all very sweet and nice. Chris Hanke sat with some of us at dinner. He's very dear. I think mostly everything he's done has been theater so he's a little hyper and antsy. He was the only one you could hear clearly during the takes since he projects his voice so well.
Wow! Lucky gal that Anastasia. :woohoo:

There was a poster on MLD who recounted her assistant's day as a TR extra on the day before the wrap (I guess it was the Thurs 4/9.) She said there was a crew who kept ordering the extras to stay away from the actors and the assistant got in a little trouble for tailing Alex. I guess they went easy on the last day on the set. Watta guy! Watta gal. :happysigh: :worship: Thanks for posting, Raven.

... Though I would never admit to Alex's face that I saw Feed... :coffee:

FWIW...

TVG: Ask Matt

Question: There's been a lot of buzz about the Three Rivers pilot. I don't think I've ever heard this much about a pilot being filmed before. Is this an indication that it has a higher than normal chance of being picked up for the fall schedule? Do the networks push certain pilots to the top of the heap for better chances of being chosen? Alex O'Loughlin fans (me included) are chewing their nails off waiting for news on new pick-ups. Any inside news about this? The show sounds fascinating beyond the fact that it will star our handsome and talented Aussie hunk.—Cindy R

Matt Roush: The buzz about Three Rivers is magnified by the fandom for Alex O’Loughlin. Nothing wrong with that, but keep it in perspective. Industry buzz, including in the Hollywood Reporter just this week, indicates the show is a “strong contender” for fall, no doubt enhanced by the star’s enthusiastic following, especially since the demise of Moonlight on the same network. (There’s a reason he was given a high-profile guest role on Criminal Minds in an episode airing next week.) Is all of this enough to clinch Three Rivers an on-air spot? Maybe, maybe not. For me, the show makes some sense because with ER gone, there’s an opening for a new medical drama with sexy leads. The transplant-surgeon angle also sounds promising, but just the very idea of Alex O’Loughlin around blood (even if it’s being pumped into patients instead of being drained from necks) no doubt has millions swooning. Hard not to see why.

He wants it,too. But he wants to remind us that it is US hyping it. However, he thinks it "makes sense" and that THR reported it as a strong contender (and others as well.) Also, he said that having been on the same network as ML it helps its cause.

He is trying to keep it in perspective, but it is obvious he is rooting for it, too! Thanks, Matt! :fingerscrossed: (and mwj01)

Yeah, that's cool to read... but did not this same columnist report that ML was likely to be renewed last spring?

I'm thinking he knows a bit about tv, of course, but he has no insider info really...

So I'm certainly hopeful, and I LOVED reading that Sister M :hearts: , but I'm also still really nervous... and still hiding behind Phee's kind offer of a protective couch... :scary:

He may have Sis, can't recall specifically, but I think that was the industry buzz overall about ML until it suddenly took that last minute dark turn due to the breakdown in negotiations, I assume.

Thanks for the post, mwj!
