Nope. But, as someone said to me, if you're gonna be upstaged, may as well be by the leader of the free world, right?nayp wrote:You got to be kidding me!

Usually for those of us on the west coast, that's 6:00 PM, but you guys on the east coast----9:00 PM
You can blame the west coast for so late---they want us home for it.
But there is NO WAY CBS is NOT airing this episode.
They will show it no matter what!We will watch the times!

Oh, no. I really liked Obama. Now I'm not so sure. Doesn't he have people who tell him about such things as etiquette and not to anger the fans of certain people? I'm thinking his likeability factor just dropped in half...

"Oh no!" is right, Francis. Alex must be starting to wonder if he has a "kick me" sign taped to his back.francis wrote:Oh, no.

Oh, sheesh! You've got to be kidding me. I like President Obama, but we've been waiting for freakin' ever to see new Alex on our TV screens. With any luck, CBS will preempt the press conference and show the highlights later on. (AARRGHHHH!!!!! We'll have to figure this one out so we don't miss our guy.

OK, there are several possibilities:
1) CBS will show the news conference at 9:00 pm (EDT), then follow the news conference with their regularly scheduled programming, if the conference is less than 30 minutes. This just impacts the local news coverage, so no big loss (network wise). We'll get to see CM, just a little later than normal.
2) If CBS knows or fells that the conference is going to go on longer than 30 minutes (Mr. Obama does like to speak, and at length), they may cover the news conference, then fill in the remainder of the hour with their experts re-hashing everything that the President just said. Then they'll follow with either Criminal Minds
or CSI NY
(usually on at 10 pm). If CSI, then CM gets rescheduled.
3) With a week's notice, they may re-arrange the schedule in advance, perhaps moving Criminal Minds to 8 pm EDT and canning the two comedies that would normally be on between 8 and 9 (neither of them doing very well in the ratings).
I vote for number 1. But hey, I'm just a fan...what do I know. What 's funny is that if we on the right coast get shafted, those of you on the left coast may have to use the spoiler thingy in your posts!!!

Just a question as I don't know how ratings/watersheds work in the US, but is CM suitable for airing @ 8pm?

Good question, Red. I think it would depend upon the content of the episode. What they try to refrain from in the 8 pm slot is graphic (by US standards) sex and violence. NCIS is on at 8 pm and shows a lot of dead bodies, both in the field and on the autopsy table. In a recent ep, I thought they had crossed the line, but apparently not. So if the CM is less graphic and more suggestive, it may be ok to air at 8.

Thanks, dsr. Network TV here is much less restricted than the US but only after 9pm - before 9pm the restrictions are quite tight. NCIS airs after the 9pm watershed here (they show it at 8pm on cable but they are always getting fined!!!).

Given the subject matter and the level of violence that's shown on a usual episode of CM, it's doubtful they would air during the "family" hour.
Hopefully the President keeps it short and sweet - or I'm gonna have to vote Republican in the next election.

I disagree WF. I think he wanted to change his glasses because he knew he was going to kill her and needed the ones to film it.willing freshie wrote:Josefismysire wrote: ETA: Just had a thought..if Vincent videotapes his kills, do you think that's why he "needs to change his glasses?" That the camera is embedded in a pair of glasses?? hmmmm???
He may very well have a camera in his glasses but I think that was simply said because now his face is out there with those distinctive glasses and makes him too recognizable. He needs to change his look.
Prediction: Alice is dead meat and after, Vincent wants to stop because he liked Alice. After killing her, he seeks help to stop.
It'll be interesting to see whether that's true or not. Can't wait. I didn't see sexy when he was watching the clip of his victim, he actually really creeped me out.
