Grace, no ray of sunshine, I am going with some 20 years of financing in my background. Right now CBS stocks, let me put it mildly, it sucks. CBS has to do some major cuts, even being number #1, to make a profit. Why does CBS have so many pilots this year, because we are going to be shocked how many series are going to be cancelled by the Big Eye this year. Money rules right now, they are going to get rid of still popular series that cost them big bucks. IMO, and trust me,(if not, thinking of becoming a monk in the mountains of western PA.) both medical shows are going to be OK'ed by CBS, one a mid season replacement.

Well... that's a comforting thought... You have my vote...

Oh god grace, get off my soap box, I do believe this year, networks are going to look at the bottom line with the money, and if not propane tanks work well in caves.

Did anyone else read somewhere (sorry I can't find the link at this moment) that Joaquim de Almeida has joined the cast of TR?

I liked him as the bad guy in Desperado :)
I had to look him up, but yeah, I liked him in Desperado too. Just how big is this cast going to be? :? It sounds good as far as selling the pilot, but then I'm concerned about the amount of Alex's screen time. Maybe I should take Mom's advice and not 'borrow problems'.

I'm guessing ER sized cast, which I guess would be about typical for medical dramas. Just remember, we were very spoiled with Moonlight and the size and focus of that show. We're going to see less screen time for Alex, but on the upside, the man might actually have a life outside of filming with a larger cast!

Good point, SS!
And look what ER did for George Clooney. I really like him, his movies and activism, but he is not even half the actor Alex is.

Yes, you're right of course. ;) I haven't watched ER in years and got away from any medical dramas altogether so I'd forgotten the cast size. With the announcement of every addition, I selfishly think that it's cutting into the Alex pie. But we absolutely were spoiled with Alex's screen time on ML and I don't want to see him run down and tired again.

Thanks for the pick-me-up SS!

And on the bright side, he may have more time to do interviews...ermm...does that make me selfish? :snicker: If it does, I can't help it...I LOVE Alex being...well...Alex!

I'm selfish too. I'd rather have Alex on my screen 24/7 but if this is better for his career and easier on him then I guess I'm happy. Actually, a less hectic filming schedule could be great...it'll mean he has more free time to wander around the 'burgh and run into me! (Hey, I warned you I was selfish ;) )

Re Joaquim De Almeida, according to THR.com
CBS Par's "Rivers" is about organ transplants through the eyes of doctors, donors and patients. De Almeida, repped by APA and Principal, will recur as the director of the institute of transplant medicine.

And you might be interested in this - it is an audition for a character in the pilot (the mother of a potential organ donor):

I like Joaquim De Almeida, so I was glad to see him added to the cast. He's one of those actors that I've seen in a dozen or so things over the years and never knew his name, but just knew that I liked his work. Nice addition.

Thanks for the info, Red!
