And I wanted to say, Raven, what a great note that was...as a fan, I'm proud to have you as a spokeswoman for me.

Agree totally.PNWgal wrote:I think this blogger would do well to remember that once upon a time, J-Lo was a "relative newcomer" as well. Personally, I love being on the "ground floor" of Alex's career, so to speak. Yeah, he's real pretty, but he's also damn talented and THAT'S what I hope peeps see when they watch him - that he deserves to be successful because of how hard he works to perfect his craft. Pretty faces are a dime a dozen in Hollywood - Alex's talent will set him apart.
He's got nowhere to go but up and I'm going to be there every step of the way.

But can I still be a lioness? I like that better than cougar any day.
As for this movie, the only thing I think it's going to do is get him noticed. This isn't the type of film that will garner him critical acclaim, but it will get his face recognized and get his name out there. A great stepping stone to harder hitting, award winning films. So in Hollywood terms he may have to play the "pretty" card for at least now and then WOW them with gut-wrenching, eyes glued performance later.
Go Alex!!
I totally agree, PNW. What i hope will come of this film is people discovering Alex for the first time and then delving into his other performances just as so many of us did after viewing Moonlight for the first time. All you have to do is see his vaired roles to get an idea that there is soooooo much more below that beautiful surface. Hopefully this new flock of fans will search out what else he's been up to over the years and be duly impressed.PNWgal wrote:As for this movie, the only thing I think it's going to do is get him noticed. I realize Alex isn't going to win an Oscar by doing a romantic comedy with Jennifer Lopez - he's definitely still a "take what work comes along" actor. I still hope that people can look at the beautiful face and body and realize there's a talented actor behind those things. For example, I never in my wildest dreams thought a pretty boy like Johnny Depp could be such a versatile actor, or that when I used to watch Tom Hanks do stand-up that he also could do such wonderful dramatic work.
Getting his name out there is important. Fans appreciating the hard work and talent is just as important.
Ditto! Raven, you got my vote. Now, can someone teach me how to ride a rocket?coco wrote:Raven you're the best, as always![]()
