vivid, violent things
SOUNDS LIKE SOMETHING MORE HORRID THAN anything a mere mortal could imagine.... but of course....if Vamps are stronger and faster, why wouldn't their nightmares be total fever dreams of the worst sort???

You taken something and illustrated it floridly!

BRAVA!

Thank you!

(Goes to look 'floridly' up.) One definition is ornate and flowery. Wasn't really shooting for that, but okay. I did think when I had written it that it sounded kinda pretentious. Another definition is red, or ruddy and a vampire's dreams would probably be cast in that particular hue.

You got it! The parameters have been stretched when it comes to dreams, too. Lee Jay speculated about vampires being 'smarter than us' and that is a possibility, too. Still, when a life's work encompasses centuries rather than decades...but I digress.

If dreams are just the workings of the unconscious mind...

Jenna,

This is sublime. The contrasts you provide in Mick's dreams are the contrast between the man and vampire within:
They range higher and lighter, deeper and darker than anything behind her wide blue eyes. Whichever face I wear, she chooses just to see my human side, but no mortal mind could bear the dreams I dream…
Beautifully done, sweetie

But I've gotta say, I think Mick is underestimating Beth here. :chin:

Thank you!

Poor Mick, he feels so trapped by forces he thinks he can't control.

Totally agree.

While Mick has watched his Beth grow from a small child to the strong, brave woman she was on the show (one that he adores), at some level I think he still sees the little girl terrified of the 'scary woman' who needs to be rescued.

There's a possibility that he's the one who needs to be rescued! :gasp:
