That's fantastic!! I would love to write a comedy-fic based on this at some point (articles or so). I wasn't at the other forum/place you had this posted so I am not sure if that would be considered stealing or not. (?)

Sorry for double posting (how's forum etiquette on that here?) but I couldn't sleep all night : I have SO many article ideas in my head, and now I implore you, Kelly (and Eris, and Librarian7 - and anyone else who was involved in this in the other place where it was posted)- can I please, please run with this idea? :D

I would want to make an entire magazine (I also have ideas about a similar magazine for vamps) including pictures, adds and articles using photoshop, probably ending up as a PDF file to leaf through.

It I have your permission (and you were certainly be credited) I could also imagine this being a joint project- does anyone want to write articles as well? Or deliver prompts, write columns, or photoshop?

...before I get ahead of myself I shall sit patiently on my hands waiting for you to reply :) (and probaly IM you as well just out of the enthusiasm of my little heart)

The "advice column" started off with the "PSA for Freshie Maintenance" in my Moonlight Handbooks and just sort of took off in the comments for it. Lady Cat had her hands full for a bit there - fun and silly.

Besides eris's hilarious advice column, which was on what is now VLF, there was a mock up of a cover for Freshie Magazine way back on MLL. Wish I'd saved a copy.

I think, if you want to run with it, we'd be glad to see your spin.

Perhaps you could solicit articles!

Wasn't there a newspaper at one point, too? (back on MLL). I seem to remember someone making a full sheet of articles and photos compete with ads.

I'm pretty sure that was done by rijane, as part of the DirecTV/SciFi campaign. I remember a great ad for The Cleaner... I think I have that newsletter in hardcopy somewhere...

Still, imitation is a sincere form of flattery, isn't it? And it wouldn't be the same as I have never seen the original... (edit : oo! I did some ads for the Cleaner in a fic once too...I love working out the ways vampire society works)

I remember the parody newspaper...several issues came out online at MLL. Vamp Times or something of the sort.

I was thinking of making a vampire magazine kind of like a men's mag- with pictures of hot moviestars who are 'bite-able' and such ;) It's all in concept stages but if anyone wants to join me I'd be happy to share ideas.
