Thank you so much. Wished I could watch the Oyster Farmer. With subtitles, preferably. I don't speak Aussie.

AussieJo, those are absolutely lovely, even with the window scratches. (I'm sorry to see that there are vandals everywhere, not just the US... sigh...)
I loved Oyster Farmer, and a lot of the reason was the gloriously beautiful scenery. What a beautiful place!

I heartily agree - and thank you so much for posting the pics, Jo. Just gorgeous. Apart from Moonlight, OF remains my favourite project of Alex's. I truly think it's a great movie - the type of project I hope to see him involved in again in the future.

Here's the website for the movie (click on the pic for the link):

You can watch and download the trailer, there's a marvellous image gallery (all hi-res) and loads of other fabulous stuff.

Is it unusual to have a site for a movie this old? Or do they all have one now?
And God, what scenery. Plus Alex. Whom they shot just as beautifully as the ML folks did, I think...

Grace, I was surprised, I confess. I had it bookmarked from ages ago and didn't expect it to still be there. It was a very happy surprise to find it still up and running.wpgrace wrote:Is it unusual to have a site for a movie this old? Or do they all have one now?

Maybe that means they still get decent traffic for the movie... *she says hopefully*.
I really wish it would ever air on a cable channel that I get...
I mean, I have a copy. But I'd love for more peeps to have the opportunity to discover it... him.

The wonderful, brilliant, and extremely generous lynnrxgal
tracked down an Australian magazine that had wonderful interviews with Alex and Diana Glenn, his co-star in Oyster Farmer. Lynn was kind enough to scan the articles and share them with us!
Warning: the articles are definitely aimed at an Aussie audience, and are filled with wonderfully earthy language. (In other words, he curses a blue streak, and so does she.) Since this thread is open to be read by the public, I'm not posting the articles as viewable images, but if you right-click on the links below and highlight "open in a new window" you should be able to see them.
If you can't view the images, please feel free to PM me and I'll send you the images. These are absolutely wonderful articles, not to be missed. Oh, how I miss the way Alex used to be, before he learned to put his guard up and got smoothed out by Hollywood. Mind you, I love him now, too... but he was just so refreshingly honest and tell-it-like-it-is back then.
The interviews were done at the Toronto Film Festival in 2005. Each one is a full page, with pictures. They're in the July, 2005 issue of Filmink

Thanks to Lilly for turning the pdf files into jpgs!
