I'm a wordy person so if someone gives me an inch, I'll give back a whole yard or a whole mile.. I don't think Matt's tidbit, however mean-spirited or accidental it may be, is without merits. Afterall, it was Matt who wrote this article below connecting Alex to NCIS back in January ...

On the other hand, there's still the casting of an ex-Navy character in NCIS-2 named "Dominic Vaile" that hasn't been announced yet. Dominic is parallel to Harmon's Gibbs so what if the BIG news is that Alex's gonna show up in the NCIS season finale to carry his role over to the spinoff...??? Everyday I wake up thinking this is the day we'll hear something and we want to hear it TODAY!

Any truth to this old article below? :juggle:

CBS Boss Confirms NCIS Spin-off, Offers Alex O'Loughlin Update
Jan 14, 2009 08:34 PM ET by Matt Mitovich 100 Comments

You can never have too much of a good thing. Having proven that with a string of successful CSIs, CBS now is looking to capitalize on NCIS' strongest season ever by spinning a new series off of what was essentially a JAG spin-off.

"It's happening. We're doing it," CBS Entertainment president Nina Tassler confirmed Wednesday at the TCA Winter Press Tour. "We've seen an outline. We're in great shape, and we're just waiting to get the script. But we're going to cast, and we're going to shoot."

It's yet to be cast, you say? Here's a provocative thought. CBS long ago inked a development deal with Alex O'Loughlin, who had cultivated quite a fan following as the star of the (too) short-lived Moonlight. Perhaps the Aussie hunk could return to the fore as the front man for NCIS 2? Asked separately about the status of O'Loughlin's deal with the Eye, Tassler said, "Hopefully we will [see him soon]."

As for the origin of the NCIS spin-off — which, sources say, will simply follow the cases of a team situated elsewhere — Tassler said that just as the Mark Harmon starrer "was [born of] an episode of JAG, this will be an episode of NCIS" airing later this season.

So, who's with me on the Alex O'Loughlin/NCIS 2 merger?!

I'm not into NCIS at all but I may if Alex is in it. So I'm rooting big time for Alex to get cast in it. This Dominic Vaile (a thirtysomething surveillance expert who's still experiencing separation anxiety in the wake of his exit from the Navy) in spinoff hasn't been cast yet. :type: According to the article below, there will be a special episode of NCIS in the spring that will introduce the characters for NCIS spinoff.

Keeping fingers crossed... :redwine:

Three leads cast in 'NCIS' spinoffLouise Lombard, Peter Cambor, Daniela Ruah join
By Nellie Andreeva

The team of naval investigators on the "NCIS" spinoff is coming into focus.

Louise Lombard, Peter Cambor and Daniela Ruah have been cast as leads in the hot CBS/CBS Par pilot, which will air as an episode of "NCIS" in the spring, just as the pilot for "NCIS" aired as an episode of "JAG."

The three would join Chris O'Donnell and LL Cool J, who are still in negotiations for the other two leads in the spinoff.

Lombard will play Clara, a role perceived as the female lead on the ensemble drama. A former major in the military police, Clara is an intelligent, sharp investigator who can look after herself.

Cambor ("Notes From the Underbelly") will play the quick-witted Nate, the team's conscience and beating heart. Nate is an operational psychologist and a walking encyclopedia of American culture.

Ruah will play Kensi, a super bright young investigator who studied forensics and criminology in college.

Brit Lombard is joining the "NCIS" franchise after a stint on another hit CBS crime procedural, "CSI," where she played Detective Sofia Curtis for three years.

She also played the title lead in the ABC pilor "Judy Got a Gun."

Lombard is repped by Luber Roklin Entertainment and U.K.'s United Agents.

Rather than mean-spirited or accidental, I'd say Matt's post was carefully calculated. He knows if he posts stuff like that, he'll get responses; and then he can go "Just kidding!!!!"

There is nothing new in this article (the one linked in the OP), sad to say.

So we go back to waiting and hoping. As usual. Getting pretty good at it.

Too bad. I might have actually watched an episode of NCIS if they'd put Alex in it.

Awwww....now let's cut poor Matt some slack. The man's been pretty good to ML fans and even had 2 vids with Alex. I think he just saw the vampire thing and immediately thought of Alex and threw that in there to be funny. In fact, that's exactly how I read it. So no tomatoes thrown from me.

As for casting Alex in the NCIS spin-off, I'd prefer not at this point if he can't be the lead. A big ensemble cast would mean less screen time and a role not the lead would mean even less. I say pass on that.

Well, of course we would prefer Alex to have his own series with a small ensemble cast. I've been following the CBS pilot situation closely and posting on several boards so I don't know if I had posted the tidbits here lately. Let me summarize them quickly.

The short story is that the chance for new series being added to the CBS lineup this fall doesn't look good this year as there aren't many drama shows in danger of being cancelled (only "The Unit" and maybe Flashpoint.) There are 2 comedy shows that are likely to be cut ("Worst Week" and "Gary Unmarried".)
http://reporter.blogs.com/pilotseason/r ... shows.html

Les Moonves was quoted recently in a news article and "discussed his network's reduced pilot work, saying CBS will only need to add 2-4 new shows due to its solid schedule, which he predicted would leave the network on top of the ratings world for years to come."
http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/hr/con ... 59cae18379

I counted 11 drama pilots that CBS had greenlighted. Out of the 2-4 new shows to be in the fall, 2 will likely be half-hour comedy shows to replace the above. So, that leaves us with only 2 new dramas and this NCIS spinoff will very likely be one of them. What will the other one be? Image

Keep your eyes peeled on these sites for any word on Alex but remember that there'll only be room for one or 2 dramas.

He has never been that covered up onscreen in any role in his career, including Man Thing.. now if they made it a deep v neck henley Snuggie with rolled up arms so we could see the tats and made it tight thru the torso and around the hips so we could glimpse the perfect shape beneath... and made it that awesome shade of light blue in that clingy fabric... ok then we might have something.... :snicker:
