OK back to topic... I wonder if it does have to do with the guy who did the hit-and-run... hopefully it's a wonderfully multilayered pun...

No, thank YOU... your fic is more fun than a serial killer ep... but I'll be watching and cheering... however gruesome his murders are... I'll be cheering...

...but I prefer the sexy fic... :snicker:

He'll definitely be the most loveable serial killer to ever grace out TV screens. :snicker:

And just to throw a spanner in the er, cogs of the big wheel ( :slaphead: )...

I know Ausiello said that Alex's character was a serial killer, but didn't Ed Bernero just say "killer"? Anal I know, but there IS a difference. And when it comes down to it, I'd believe Bernero over Ausiello.

I'll have to find the links and check.

Here they are. Ausiello doesn't say much at all. But the hit and run killer could definitely fit the Ed Bernero description.

Exclusive: 'Moonlight' vamp Alex O'Loughlin returns to CBS

Finally, I have a bone to throw all you inconsolable Moonlight fans.

The dead drama's central blood sucker, Alex O'Loughlin, is returning to CBS in an upcoming episode of Criminal Minds, sources confirm to me exclusively.

The change-of-pace hour, which is tentatively scheduled to air in April, will track a case from the POV of a serial killer, played by O'Loughlin.

This is O'Loughlin's first leap back into TV since Moonlight was laid to rest nine months ago. At press tour last month, CBS president Nina Tassler -- who signed the Aussie hunk to a development deal in August -- hinted that we may see him back on the network "soon" in a new project.

What say you, Moonlight fans? Happy to see O'Loughlin sinking his teeth into another meaty TV role -- even if he's not literally doing so? Sound off below!
And this is what Ed Bernero told Matt Mitovich
Alex is playing a killer whose life is unexpectedly changed by an incident, which prompts him to reach out to the BAU team for "help".

"Big Wheel" was mentioned in a CM episode in November 2006 called Empty Planet:

Reid: "I need to stop by a bookstore and get a copy of Empty Planet. I want to reread it before we talk to the author. I haven't read it since I was six."
Morgan: "Six? I was still riding my Big Wheel at six years old."
Reid: "Do you mind? It will only take ten minutes."
Gideon: "To buy it or read it?"
Reid: "Uh...both, actually."

I really don't think this haas anything to do with the upcoming show, but thought I would post it as a curiosity.

I found an interesting blog on CM spoilers. It seems that the CM fans are not too enthused about our guy being on their show. Don't worry, you KNOW that they will be pleasantly surprised once they lay eyes on him and see the master in action!!! There are some spoilers about the episode as well. PLEASE don't insult/flame the CM fans... we hope that they will be charmed by the alure of Alex!

*gag* Maybe it'll be better, but it's looks like we're in for True Night 2:Electric Boogaloo

http://ausiellofiles.ew.com/2009/02/exc ... moonl.html

The guy from Moonlight is guest starring, but here's the part that aggravates me:

"The change-of-pace hour, which is tentatively scheduled to air in April, will track a case from the POV of a serial killer, played by O'Loughlin."

Seems like it's the set up for lots of scenes with the guest star while the main cast spends their time locked in the basement (or maybe getting manicures). I doubt the guy is going to spend the majority of the episode hanging around the team, so if we're seeing things from his pov, we'll be spending time with him and not the BAU. And, if he does spend a lot of time with the team, it'll make them look slow if they don't either figure it out it's him or that he should at least be looked into, since they know that unsubs like to inject themselves into the investigations. And, if they do figure it out, that means the episode is finished too fast. So, it seems the only way to not cut the episode short or make the team look incompetent is that they don't have a lot of time with him so, again, it means lots of scenes with him and the team off screen

"looks like we're in for True Night 2:Electric Boogaloo"
lol

Yeah, I'm not overly eager for another 'the team is seen from affar' episode, but at least this Alex guy looks more like an unsub than Frankie Muniz did. And on the plus side, the comments on that page seem to indicate that we're scooping a lot of the 'Moonlight' fans for that episode, so maybe that'll be a good thing.

I suspect an episode like this would only get the fans for a brief period of time. Even the ones who might be willing to give the show another look after their Moonlight guy goes will have false expectations. Then they watch the next week and see real CM, with the cast playing a large role and where we get into the killer's heads through the team, it might not be what they signed up for.

If they had just cast him in an episode, fine. But it sounds surprisingly desperate for a successful show. "Look, Moonlight fans! We have your guy and he's going to get the lion's share of screen time, so even if you don't like the show, you'll see lots of him. So, watch! Pretty please with a bushel of cherries on top! And, you regular viewers can sacrifice one episode to the people who just are watching to see their precious vampire." Okay, maybe I'm prematurely bitter, but even the possibility of another True Night deserves some derision.

Bleh.

Alex O'Loughlin? He totally ruined the vampire private-eye thing with Angel 2.0 (Moonlight). To be honest, I think it's more of a rating ploy than anything, because that guy just doesn't seem like a good actor to me (judging by what I've seen of Moonlight). There's just going to be a whole bunch of Moonlight/O'Loughlin fans watching and driving up the ratings, like The Frankie Muniz Hour last season.

Bessie_Mae, I'm with your opinion on this one. Completely.

Well, they might have found a way to give the cast something to do in the Moonlight episode besides spend the whole shoot getting massages in their trailers. According to the mega minute video, the unsub goes to the BAU for "help". Which is weird and I can't imagine how it will be. But, it sounds like they have to have screen time if he's specifically seeking them out. (Or, he seeks them out in the last 15 minutes and the rest is Vampire Guy All the Time -staying wary here) But, I'd still like to know how they keep the team from looking stupid, if they *are* in contact with him for the majority of the episode.

Oh, you mean his fans are hating you? Not a thing wrong with his fans being fans or getting excited about seeing their favorite actor. But, they should also keep in mind that not everyone is going to love the episode sight unseen simply because he's in it. For some of us, Criminal Minds isn't simply "The Show That Putting Alex O'Loughlin Back On TV for a Night."

Is this another sweeps episode? I hate it when they do that. I understand they want more viewers, but following the vampire around isn't the show. It sucks for CM's real fans . I am holding my breath for "Zoe's Reprise" I am really praying it isn't all Rossi.

Well, fire IS creepy. The main thing that I'm worried about is that they might actually show someone burning, which happened both in Compulsion and Ashes and Dust. I had to close my eyes and cover my ears for those scenes.

A bit more about Alex O'Loughlin's character and the CM episode he's in:

"O’Loughlin’s guest stint on Criminal Minds has been discussed extensively and the actor will play a serial killer, with the hour being told from his point of view.

CM executive producer Ed Bernero told TVGuide.ca how the former vampire was working out: “Alex is an amazing actor; he’s right next door, shooting scenes right now.

“Alex plays a serial killer who something happens at a scene of one of the killings that changes his whole personality, and he reaches out to the BAU for help. It’s a really interesting character.

“There’s also a great kid in the episode, Andy Cherry, and he and Alex share a lot of scenes together. Alex is very sweet with kids.

The episode is scheduled to air in April."

Gah! They sound so much like ML fans and fans all over the world! I don't blame them for being jealous of time being taken away from their darling CM characters. I am not so sure that Alex is being promoted that much at all, so I don't get the "vampire' diss and bitterness. Sounds like they're just trigger happy and twitchy and protective of their show, but maybe it's a bit premature.. Funny how they think this ep is all about Alex. And I wish the ML loons would shut the hell up.

If those are true spoilers then the character is going to be quite complex, even if it turns out to be only on the surface.

Now I'm actually getting excited! It won't be simply a duty (or is that "booty") call! :cheering:

Yeah, they are wary; I saw that Frankie Muniz ep and it was boring and awful. I like the cast of CM... just don't like the gore and can't watch it--how interesting that one of its fans noted an ep where they burned someone up that SHE couldn't bear to watch. But I can see how its fans would feel... that Muniz ep was just the worst. And how would WE have felt if ML had had a big guest star one ep that took most of the screen time away from Alex? Immediately woulda been my least favorite ML ep... I actually have issues with 12:04 cause there's less than usual amounts of Mick! :pinklol:

So I don't blame the ones who are nervous and some of them are wary but willing to try it... and Alex will do great... but if you're really wanting to see Shemar onscreen, this would be a disappointment for you... so I get their pov.

Hopefully what will result is Alex will get some new fans that night. Who will then watch his own show... cause hopefully this is somehow supposed to end up getting him his own d@mn show...

The fact that Alex is getting so much buzz from us and the CM fans, is nothing but good all the way around. Even if CM fans aren't thrilled with the prospect of him being on the show, and the attention he's getting instead of their usual cast---it opens the door for more viewers. And, you know a lot of those with negative comments will be swayed when they see the man in action.

Grace, you do have a one-track mind. All roads lead to Alex, huh? :rofl2:

I'd forgotten how little he'd been in 12:04. All I think about is that short jacket he wore. Gave me an entirely new perspective of him.

Bwahahaha! I was going to say, I can't wait to see how you do 6 degrees of Alex with a Depends commercial, and then remembered the tampons!

On the bright side, it would be lovely if this role does showcase Alex's gifts and one or two people decide to check him out. But largely, I'm just happy for him and for US! I think he has cultivated a die hard fan base like Nathan Fillion.
