Good career choice, Jason! Yay! :yahoo:
The cable channels have different seasons and filming schedules that allow actors to be on different shows throughout the year. The Parade magazine last Sunday had a question/answer section on the first page that talked about actors choosing cables over broadcast networks that allow this type of flexibility. Did anyone see that piece or know how to copy/post it? Otherwise, I'll have to dig up my recycled bin tonight and retype it here.

Thanks ladies for posting the info. So happy for Jason!! I hope this pilot will get picked up.

EW just posted a Twitter with this news too, and I replied back
RangerCM@EWPopWatch So, then what's up with Washingtonian? Will Jason do both, or did he get "retooled" off?
Maybe we'll get some news from them, if they can find it.

Here's Ausiello's take:

Minka Kelly, Jason Dohring cast in the CW pilot 'Body Politic' (Double entendre?)

Only on The CW could you potentially have a series called Body Politic, and have it not be about the newly appointed Attorney General (Tim Matheson). According to The Hollywood Reporter, Friday Night Lights' Minka Kelly has been cast as his daughter Hope, who leaves Michigan following her mother's death, finds her long-lost dad in D.C., and begins working for him. Jason Dohring (of Veronica Mars, Moonlight, and PopWatch Duel fame) will play a reporter with The Washington Post. Our nation's capital hasn't looked this sexy since Hollywood invaded for Obama's inauguration the 2000 WB series D.C., starring Mark-Paul Gosselaar, Jacinda Barrett, and Daniel Sunjata.

Is Ausiello implying that Jason will play a sexy reporter?

What does "body politic" mean? Is it like a parody of what our politicians do?

There are so many things to read. CM, TR and now BP. :mdrama:

ODM, a body politic is a state or a politically-organised group of citizens, nation, province etc. I presume here, it's also a play on words.

Thanks for the explanation, Red!

JIMS, we think your ID gave you away. :snicker:

Here's the question asked on the Parade magazine about actors choosing work on cables for more flexibility. Jason can probably juggle both BP and Washingtonienne. I hope he'll get both. :cheer:

Q A few years ago, it seemed that TV stars all wanted to make it onto the big screen. Now, a number of film stars are on TV. Why the turnaround?--Robert Christiansen, Gower, Mo.

A The quality of writing on premium and other cable channels has attracted such first-rate actors as Kyra Sedgwick (The Closer), Anna Paquin (True Blood), and Gabriel Byrne (In Treatment). What's more, the pay on cable is good, and the often-shorter shooting schedules allow stars time for theater and movie work.

It's a sister cable channel owned by CBS. Check your local listings for the channel number. In San Francisco Bay area, it's channel 20.

It's one of the networks on regular cable channels..channel 16 here in Upstate New York.

They also feature Supernatural (Yeah!!) and Smallville, amongst others..

Ironically, it was also one of the stations that JS purportedly shopped Moonlight too for a pick-up when CBS cancelled. But we knew that wasn't going to happen, cuz guess who owns the CW? Yep, CBS and the WB!

Yea, I know. In an alternate universe, Moonlight should have been premiered on the CW instead...it would have done famously there behind Smallville and Supernatural, methinks..Heavy Sigh... :bmoon:
