First off...WOW! Absolutely amazing, Red! Stunning, just absolutely stunning! :clapping:

Now, gushing aside :giggle: ...I am in shock here. I have a fic in the works that has some similarities to this that are just uncanny. :snicker: I was just talking with Eris yesterday about the fic, as we were discussing possible storylines for our challenge entry...and I told her that one fic that I had in mind was a Josef/Sarah story where Josef is a pianist. Yes, that's right...a pianist. :snicker: I thought I was crazy for envisioning Josef that way, but I suppose not, because you portrayed him beautifully. The story I was planning has a somewhat different plot, however. Instead of Sarah reawakening, it takes place on the night Josef turned her. (plus, I had a Chopin piece in mind...not Beethoven :snicker: )But anyway, I just thought I'd mention it, because I found this amusing. There must be some major brain fusion at work somewhere :giggle:

Anyway, I loved it, Red. So beautiful!

Wonderful, Redwinter. Now I want to listen to Beethoven again. I'm a fan of his symphonies but haven't listened to his piano pieces yet.
The way you take the music to show Josef's emotions, and make Sarah understand, is so great. He is so vulnerable, and she is so tender and trying to get to know him through the music. 50 years and more in one piano piece.
She's ready to move on with Josef, to leave Charles behind. So sad, and so hopeful. Thank you!

Very beautiful, and unique the way you have Josef using the music to make Sarah understand who he is now. I'm so happy that she understands the fact that Charles is gone and accepts Josef.

dsr, thank you so much.

Lucky, I don't have an OTP either. So we shall be OTP-less together. For you to say that Josef was right here gladdens my little heart. :rose:

mitzie, thank you, honey. :hearts:

Thanks, Ranger. greenleaf9 gave me the prompt of Josef playing the piano while Sarah listens - and while I think Josef might have been a little partial to say, Bach, or as in Kelly's story, Chopin, there was something about this sonata that set off a thought for the story. And such a happy coincidence that it chimed with your recent reading!

alle, thank you. As for how Sarah woke - I confess, I have absolutely no idea.

Kel, you should be relieved to find out it's actually gl9 you're sharing brain-time with rather than me. Trust me, that's a blessing. Thanks for the lovely comment - and I can't wait to read your story.

francis, I cannot recommend the sonatas highly enough - such rich variety and intense emotion - and I love that this made you want to listen.

Cat, I would imagine it would be a struggle for Josef to be faced with the joy of Sarah coming back to him, only to recognise that she expects to see a man who no longer exists. So it was lovely to imagine a way they could overcome that. Thank you, as always. :rose:

I' ve been away from fanfic for a while now...its pull has never been stronger having read this piece. Each time, Red, each time I read your work I am simply amazed at the power your words engage my emotions. Although I can't hear the music your words make my breath quicken with anticipation and my heart beats faster. Like a master's art...your words paint a beautiful portrait of love, life and hope and I slow down my reading until the words caress my body like a patient lover's touch and my heart beats even faster. I don't think you can ever realize how deeply you touch me, Red. And how you draw more out of me than the time before.
My favorite passage...
A world of contrasts brought into sharp relief; the great composer brought to despair by silence; the powerful, mysterious vampire made vulnerable by love; and her.
All of Moonlight is a litany of contrasts...never so evidenced as in this marvelous vignette.
Thank you.

This was just beautiful. I'm with Alle it opens a ton of questions for me. Especially
redwinter101 wrote: A world of contrasts brought into sharp relief; the great composer brought to despair by silence; the powerful, mysterious vampire made vulnerable by love; and her. She was no longer human but neither was she a vampire. Would they be able to find each other again, to find a new way of loving?

.
I would love to know how Sarah woke up and if she's not human or vampire is she an immortal of some kind.

Just lovely. I'm such a Sarah fan.

Raven, :blushing: :blushing: we've missed you. I hope RL isn't driving you too crazy. Your words are so very, very kind. Thank you. :rose: This,

may well be the most beautiful compliment I've ever had.

Phoenix, thank you.

cassysj, I know how much you love Sarah so I'm particularly pleased that you enjoyed this. But I'm afraid I have no more answers - sorry. :blushing: This really was just a snapshot.

Red this was just lovely. Josef being a pianist and the Beethoven piece - perfect. Being a bit of a musician myself this one hit all the right notes for me. :hearts:

Just beautiful Red.
