Lovely alle. I enjoyed getting a peek back into this wonderful day for them.
Loved this line:
A sensualist who’s been trapped in the body of a monk for I don’t know how many years
Oh, to be the one to un-trap that part of him!

Wonderful!
There are so many moments in the show that cry out to be fleshed out in the way you have expanded on the picnic (hint, hint).
You have captured the ambiance of the moment so beautifully and given us a little more insight into the moment.
Absolutely lovely!

Loved this little story very much! It's so beautiful, sweet, awkward... so quintessential MickBeth!
And what I really liked about it, is that it fits into the episode and expands it perfectly, leaving the pace of development of their relationship intact. Thank you!

Thank you, friends. I'm really happy that you liked this little story...and I'd love to do some more scene expansions. If you have one you'd particularly like to see, please let me know...

Alle
Just came by for a reread and this is so lovely. It is even more delightful that you write it from Beth's POV. We all have fun speculating on what Mick us feeling, but he told us in the voiceovers. Beth had come thru a monumental shift in what she considered reality amd did remarkably well with it. She has dealt with the death of her former lover, loss of her career at Buzzwire and a new job. The girl is quite remarkable.
And so is this amazing fic.
Thanks, Alle!
Jenna

This was new to me,
Allegrita and I enjoyed very much! A great job of filling in the blanks. I would have loved to see more of their picnic in the episode!
Glad this one popped to the top!

Thanks MLC!

It was fun to explore it, and to try to think of how Beth saw things.

Hey, allegrita, it was great that you chose to thoroughly describe and even expand the picnic scene. It was so fresh watching their feelings slowly being expressed during this new situation for Mick. I lreally enjoyed how you moved in from second to second, feelings and small actions in detail. And now it feels so clear why Beth had a huuuge smile entering her house after the picnic and Mick had a wonderful expression on his face in Josef's office...
Oh, and I think many of us would see what Beth meant about wanting to be that strawberry herself!

Thanks so much, maggatha3. I'm so glad this story worked for you. And yeah...

I think we
all want to be the strawberry.

This time through I especially enjoyed it when you left the scene we knew so well and moved into perfectly plausible new territory.
A couple of nights ago, I saw TMC again and remember the scene when Mick woke up the first morning after having taken the cure, looked at his reflection in the mirror but in order to confirm whether he had, in fact, turned back into a vampire over night, he touched an open wound on his face and reacted to the pain.
Here, he is reacting to the joys of humanity--the sun, the beach, the strawberry and Beth.
Thank you!
Jenna

Fabulous, Alle! I love the expanded beach picnic scene, too! And I love how you wove the photo taking moment in there -- would it have killed them to add that into the show? He looked so happy in that photo. Anyway, as I keep saying, all you wonderful fanfic writers are certainly filling in the gaps -- from the show and in our hearts -- with your talents here. Please keep it up!

I love taking the hints we were given and turning them into a little "what if" scene. I'd have loved seeing Beth take the picture of Mick... but it was almost as fun to imagine it, and write it down.
