This is great! I love the conversation and interactions between our guys... they love each other, they tease each other, they push each others' buttons, they understand each other, and they take care of each other... just perfect.

Very well done ladies. :clapping:

This was cute and funny and sad all at the same time. You have the humour and banter between these two perfectly.

Very nice indeed.

What a great story, you two! Wonderful collaboration.
“Yeah, what can I say—I’m a complex character who’s greatly underrated.”

Mick was nodding with a slow smile. “I may even have to rethink my initial impression of you—or at least revise it.”

“What, that I’m a pompous ass?” Josef broke into a little grin.

“That’d be the one,” Mick smirked.

“Well, if you give that up, then maybe I’d be forced to admit that you are cut out to be a vampire—just not the kind you think.”
That was a really nice way to include some text from the show. It shows what kind of friends they are. I love their banter.
You, my friend, have got to learn to laugh at yourself. It’s easy—I do it all the time!”

Mick snorted. “Since when does Josef Kostan laugh at himself?”

“Oh, I meant at you.”
*snorting water through my nose because of laughing so hard*

The caterpillar story was priceless, especially Mick’s answer to it.

The end is so touching, and also a bit funny, because Josef shares his story with Sarah as he can’t tell anybody else or Mick will blackmail him.

Thanks so much, Francis! :hearts: Glad you liked. You're right, Josef had better be careful--technically he is breaking the terms of his and Mick's "agreement" by telling Sarah (though Josef could argue that Sarah may not have been able to "hear" him, if Mick ever finds out), and Mick is already annoyed with him for sneaking a picture--but really, what is Mick gonna do? Josef has better reflexes at the moment.

Okay, you two collaborators, this is just about as perfect as one can get. The Josef snark was right on. I laughed so hard at the image in my head of the photo of a sunburned Mick on Sarah's dresser and her hint of a smile. Great, great, great job! :hyper2:

I love Mick and Josef together like this. You paint a great picture of sunburned Mick amidst his fast food detritus. :giggle: And yet, Josef slipped in a few serious comments, admitting his life was lonely and less than satisfying. Great story!

:reading: Thank you both.

Julie has been much better than I have at responding to comments...for that I apologize! I really enjoyed learning how writers 'write'. And I've LOVED that everyone has enjoyed the story & could really see it happening. And Julie did a fabulous job (as usual) in getting the Josef snark :)

So, to everyone for the comments -

Makes me feel good..

How did I not read this earlier? Wonderful missing scene! BTW did you know that suntan lotion was invented by the military to protect the skin of the soldiers in the Pacific? Instead of turning red, their skin tanned a coppery color. It was later marketed (and a specific fragrance was added) as Coppertone!
