I was a little befuddled at first, but after learning it was a dream, I went back and read it again. It DOES sound just like a dream, with people you know appearing, and all the familiar dialogue, but used in different contexts. Ingenious! And what a concept to begin with - Beth going to Mick to help find her kidnapped baby.

Wonderful job, Lorig and Nutmegger!

Francis - Wow! Just...Wow! Thank you so much! Lorig, did you hear what Francis said?

NICMoll - What can I say, I love Easter Eggs. ETA We took a risk at the fic sounding jubmled, because that is the way dreams often work.

DSR - Thank you so much for your comments. We tried to keep the surprise till the end.

MLC - Lorig came up with the concept. We have some very creative readers on this site.

Just a quick note on AU. Please don't think I'm dissing it. It is not that at all. I just have this MickMuse and his eyes go silver and his fangs descend and he growls at me, "We have rules! You need to come with me. Right now." I'm telling you, it's skeery. :gasp:

DSR You know how much i love your stories so your comment means so much to me. nutmegger did a wonderful job pulling off the surprise!

MLC My hankie homie :hankie: I love ya! Thanks for taking the time to read! There is an extra bag of M&Ms in it for you and I promise no to throw them at you!! :rolling:

Hey nutmegger, your Mick muse sounds incredibly exciting. I wouldn't mind meeting him!!! :snicker:

Mitzie - Thank you so much! Beth seems to work through the most terrifying parts of her life through dreams. It just seemed appropriate.

Okay, I should not have read this story at 2am when I was really tired--I didn't pick up on that. :blushing: But it IS genius! :salute:
aaagh.... that just answered my question... I LOVE it! So psychoanalytically sound. mwah ha ha ha. Good one nutmegger and lorig.

Clever idea and great use of the dialogue---that's what dreams do--they take little pieces of our brain that may seem insignificant, and turn them into something else. You showed that well.

Luxe - Thank you so much! Psychoanalytically sound, eh? Well it's nice we can say that about the fic, anyway. :snicker:

Thank you Fleur. We really do have very creative readers on this site.

Hi Karen, Thanks for the comment. Yeah, we had to risk causing confusion to keep the dream real (because, as it turns out, we have rules for dreams, too) and pace it to keep the urgency of the situation for Beth. Thanks for sticking with it till the big reveal.

Wow. This is VERY different. I like it. No, I love it. You did go "outside the box," which is what makes this so unique and special. :clapping: :clapping: :clapping:

Woll - Glad you enjoyed the story. These challenges are good for dragging us out of our boxes.

Hi Emma-Lee  Thanks for the comment. It was a dream, and maybe a little more.

This is thoroughly intriguing. There are so many questions still unanswered, but dreams are so like that. Within them, you are totally caught up in the emotions of a situation that makes no sense out of the dream. When you awake, the emotions melt away like mist in the full sun leaving you a bit bewildered by the intensity of emotion there.

I'd love to hear that conversation, too!

Just sayin'

Thank you so much, Jen! :hearts:

I'm glad it read the way a dream often feels. This was an exploration for me on several levels. Glad you like it.
