*SQUEE* He looked delish and I loved his (non-bedazzled) boots!! And those jeans.... Very tight.
The interview....was all over the map. LOL It went from his boots to Lake Arrowhead water to eating kangaroo and crocodile! Can't wait to watch it again and for someone to get screencaps!
No mention of Whiteout though, and they showed the "Second Chance...Take It" scene from Three Rivers. Nice work, CBS. Are these people smoking some strong stuff or what? I mean, they new pilot has been filmed....why are they not using clips from it?!
He was more at ease than he was during the first Craig interview, WAY more chatty and there were times Craig was speechless and Alex would speak up. LOL The interview was too short though, of course.
Oh and he got botulism in Mexico after Moonlight was cancelled!!

OK, I'm chatting with MyImmortal, who is 3 hours ahead of me in Toronto. I'm putting this behind spoiler tags in case the West Coasters don't want to know...
Spoiler:
At the beginning of the segment, they showed the Three Rivers clip where he's telling the basketball player that he should take his second chance at life. Craig made a joke about the hokey piano music that plays during that scene.
He also mentioned that the last time Alex was on his show, it was when Alex was doing the vampire show. And after the show was canceled, he thought it was all over for Alex. Alex said, it almost WAS over--because he got food poisoning when he went to Mexico after Moonlight was canceled. (Poor guy--he must have felt like everything was conspiring against him!)
He said he was in the jungle climbing pyramids and that sort of thing, and there was a guy selling some meat dish, which he ate...and he got really sick.
He says he's 6'1" (but it depends on if he's slouching). Hmm. Stand up, Alex!
He also said he'd love to skydive, but he's not allowed. Craig made a joke about "they don't allow that in Australia?" And Alex laughed and said, no, the show won't let him do it.
He and Craig talked about Labo(u)r Day, and about US citizenship. Alex asked Craig if you get a tax break if you're a citizen--because he pays a lot of taxes. He said that he wants to become a citizen, but he hasn't gotten around to the paperwork yet. He just keeps renewing a US Visa for 3 years at a time. (I'll help coach you for the test, Alex!)
He told Craig that he'd just been to Lake Arrowhead (here in the Southern California mountains), and he was interested in the fact that tap water up there is actually lake water. Then he asked Craig what Craig had in his coffee mug, and Craig said, Lake Arrowhead water. Alex said something like, "Now people are going to start sending you bottles of Lake Arrowhead water." Craig said, "You're presuming that people in Lake Arrowhead watch this show."
Anyhow, I haven't seen it, so this is third-hand, but I thought I'd share...

Footwear alert! LOL
The boots on the left are the ones he had on, I believe, or pretty doggone close to it. RM Williams boots....yes, I ran in here and looked them up. They are HOT.
For those who'd like to know what he was wearing....jeans, those boots I linked, a gray V-neck shirt and a black jacket with polka dots on the inside lining, his watch and pinkie ring.

You are on top of it!!! Nice boots, very classic, well made, quality boots. He's got great taste. Okay now, what's the brand of the jacket? You've got the polka dots to work with. Off ya go!

In St Louis there was an ad for 3Rvs right before the show started. I do not normally watch CF, but he sure has a "different" way of interviewing....

The interview is up on YT, courtesy of GreenEnvy (from alexoloughlinfan.com). Here's the link:
It was kinda all over the place for me... Craig is... odd... as a host.
Did it seem there were people there cheering for Alex? It sounded to me like there were, when he walked out...

I agree, Grace. Craig is Craig. I'm astonished he didn't ask about J Lo - I would have put money on that.
And re this:

yeah with a 3-5% mortality rate, botulism is absolutely hilarious. It's not food poisoning - it's a life-threatening illness.

The botulism could explain why we thought he looked thin & a little tired. It takes a while to recover. Probably the reason so few pictures of him during that time. Don't remember the time frame.

Random info about Alex's boots. They are "standard issue" footwear in Oz for men in certain areas / jobs. Most farmers wear them. They are nice ... just common here.

Yes, and may also explain why we didn't hear from him for such a long time... it can last forever and climbing back to healthy can take awhile. It was interesting that HE commented that he looks thin... he may still be having trouble eating and keeping weight on...
And it makes you powerfully ill... I bet he felt like sh!t for months...

Just a comment...LOVED the jacket! Very. Alex!! He's always had his own sense of style.
Also, at one point, he DID say to Craig "I'd like to talk about my stuff" (or something like that) "but I've forgotten everything"...and then they kept up with the rather odd convo about kangaroo meat vs crocodile and chicken...
It was a very strange interview..not a mention of any of Alex's projects (and he has lots to choose from!) but certainly SIMPLY SUBLIME to see him again..and he looks fantastic...yes, a bit thin, but healthy, relaxed and happy. And, oh yeah, HANDSOME AS HELL!

Argh--didn't know that Alex was going to be on The Late, Late Show. (that's what I get for being so lax in checking my Google alerts)
If anyone has any idea if that shows airs repeats, please do share.
Thanks goodness for youtube----although I would have much rather seen him on the television screen.
ETA: Oh my. What a delight he was and he certainly held the reins in that interview. Mr. Ferguson has a definite quirky sense of humor, which I enjoy, and Alex hung with him quite well. Loved the "keep being attractive line" that Craig threw at him!! So very true.
