According to Deadline Hollywood, the pilot has been picked up by HBO! Eight episodes have been ordered.

Hmmmm... it looks like that sort of comedy that is built on excruciatingly embarrassing, poor behavior.
Sort of, "what if Hugh Grant were ungainly and not so boyishly handsome?"
Seems like more the basis for a movie than a whole series.
But hey, I'm thrilled for Kevin that he's got a steady job!

The main character is also the creator of the series - Stephen Merchant.
He's also the co-creator of the British version of "The Office". If any show is uncomfortable - it's the British version of the office. I'm not surprised.
