Thank you all so much for your wonderful and thoughtful comments.

They are appreciated so much!
Red, mine could almost be a prequel to yours! Great minds and all that.

Thanks for reading!

You just get Mick. Yeah. There's nothing else to say. You get him.

Lovely!
Coraline was, as Josef put it, like a bad drug habit but the cure for Mick was rescuing a small child and reclaiming purpose and himself.
He may still be a vampire, but he has found a purpose.
Thank you!
Jenna

Of course it is his Beth that gives Mick purpose. Now he just has to kill time until she grows up! I love that you have found a way to keep Mick occupied and defer the boredom of the life of an immortal vampire. Nice, MLC.
What she said. Also, I think it's really touching that it took a child for Mick to change his ways.
Loved this. Thank you.

Killing time in vampire terms can be absolutely difficult. Going through eternity while raising and losing fortunes, or abusing people just for the fun of it do not seem like the solutions Mick would choose. Fate has other plans for him. This is the night after and he survived it.. He spends his time watching a young girl grow up for him..Fate must be a woman...and she loves Mick!

I seem to have missed a number of the stories in this challenge. Saving Beth was the beginning of his new life.
