Thank you so much!!!!!

This would never have happened without your support, encouragement and fabulous suggestions. Very scarey stuff but also exhilirating.

It is truly amazing to me how you were able to read the story and see precisely what needed to be fixed. You are amazing!

Moonlighter wrote:LOL!! I loved this. It's always fun to watch Mick in the hot seat and with Beth's mental gymnastics, that seems like it will be an everyday occurrence. Nice job, Jen, and I'm glad to see the challenge end on a lighter note.
That's exactly what I was thinking -loved seeing Mick in the hot seat! :snicker: VerY enjoyable read - thanks!

Jen, this is a great story! I love the idea of Mick gauging Beth's level of irritation by an artery... such a vampy thing to do. And his mental scrambling is hilarious... as is Beth's willingness to go along with him, even though she knows it's all damage control. Oh, the arguments those two will get into over the years... :snicker:

And I'm with Lilly... Mick's "helpful" suggestion made me :rolling:

Great first (of many--you'll see it's addicting!) fic, Jenna! Loved Mick's attempt at damage control (and that Beth didn't buy any of it--including that Josef's age made him wise :rolling: ), but I'm thinking he's going to get hit with the sacred ass paddle again. Highly amusing.

Red - Poor Mick, he has irritated Beth, but what man hasn't irritated his love at least once or twice. Beth has gotten really good at Mick reading, and she loves him anyway! Thanks you for taking the time to read and comment! It means a lot coming from you!

Micklifecrisis - Thank you for the kind comment! This was such fun to write. No matter what sparks fly, these too can't stay mad at each other for too long.

Alle - You are so kind! This was a delight to write. I really think that Beth would see through his placating. I think that 'hedonistic asshole' comment is going to be my favorite line, too.

Julie - This was a delight to write. Happy to hear that you enjoyed it, too.

Jenna, this is just so hilarious and so good!!

The opening line is perfect and sets your story up soooo well
You may think that as big, bad vampires, the universe has us at the top of the food chain. How did Lola put it--‘We move through the night so powerful nothing can touch us’ but the truth is that some days, you know that the universe has a sense of humor, and that you are the butt of the joke.
Love how you have Mick mentally and verbally tap dance his way out of trouble!

Thank you so much for reading and commenting! Your words are very kind and mean very much, especially coming from a writer of your caliber!

There is so much wonderful comic potential between those two! Beth has learned to read Mick very well and has good instincts here.

Jen this was just great. I love how Mick gauges Beth's level of anger and his helpful suggestion. It was definitely a bad day for Mick.

Thank you for reading and for your very kind words. I don't know about the 'perfect' part--no that's not right, I totally know about that. I can't get anywhere near that one.

But you are very kind and generous to say so!

Oh my, Mick is in deep $hit at the moment, trying to wind his way out. She doesn't believe a word he says, but he seems to find the right things to say to make her feel better. Is there a sequel of sorts?
