Each player must accept the cards life deals him. But once they are in hand, he alone must decide how to play the cards in order to win the game. Voltaire.
I loved the way she looked in this flashback--so blued out and mysterious, wearing those utterly chic clothes...so tender toward Mick and yet so amazingly uncaring about the victim. It really captured me. That dichotomy is what started me writing about Mick and Cora in the early years. I was very impressed with the difference between early, mysterious Coraline and earthy, vital, in-the-thick-of-things Morgan.
My take? Coraline was really in the driver's seat once she wooed Mick and turned him... he was her husband but now also her fledgling... and she figured she had him forever... she loved him... he loved her... she assumed she'd be able to reconcile his hesitation against the thrill and power of immortality in time...
Morgan has already loved and lost... she wants Mick back, but she's feeling her way... I'm guessing she' studied him for years trying to figure out the key, what she missed the first time around... and of course she's got competition this time around... she is undaunted, but it's not so simple for her this time...and she's more humble and more real and let's him lead sometimes... she can't afford not to...

If you read a lot of books you are considered well read. But if you watch a lot of TV, you're not considered well viewed. Lilly Tomlin
i know there is a lot of Beth/Mick lovers but i don't see the chemistry between them it seem a bit forced to me, but with Coraline/Morgan it really works, well i just watched episode 9 that could be why but really Alex and Shannyn are electric together.
Yes Alex and Shannyn had TONS of chemistry together. There was soooo much the producers missed by not having more of them in the storyline. Coraline was mysterious and beautiful, perfect as a vampiress. It is frustrating that they did not dig more into her background....
((Shameless self promotion here---I have tons of Mick/Cora stories in my offices. Most are from Cora's POV))
ITA Jade, and it's interesting to get a new viewer's perspective! The romance angle of MickBeth felt forced to me as well, especially in the last eps when they were suddenly given a violent shove into "we're dating". I saw more of a BFF chemistry with MickBeth, but that was good. But the sexiness on screen between Alex and Shannyn appeared natural in contrast, plus they just look really good together.
