Just read this again and it is perfect!

You have Josef down perfectly--the mannerisms, the way he pulls no punches and delivers his truths dispassionately and without a hint of pity. Somewhere along the way in his 400 years, he seems to have lost patience with any illusions. He certainly doesn't allow John Whitley any.

Of course, I love the little hint about him finding a way to wake Sarah! I'd love to see the fic about that!!

Thank you!

Jenna

This was such a powerful story. I can see Whitley going out this way.

Thanks for posting!
What I wrote before still goes...it's still chilling. (Pun intended. :snicker: ) But you nailed Josef to a T. His mannerisms, his words, all of it. This is who he is.

Love the reread!

Oooooh! This was chilling! I'm guessing that Sarah was a woman of that time period. They'd dress her up and show her off but cared little for her feelings or opinions. And when your smothered like that, you want to have a life that is truly all your own. Josef understood that, but Whitley obviously did not. So tragic for him.

I haven't read this one in years, and I'm so glad it got popped back up. Whitley just couldn't stand to hear the truth. His own anger and intolerance killed him... what an appropriate way for Josef to take him out.
