Emma-lee, we're still working out logistical stuff in preparation for the upgrade, since it'll be a big one. We should have the date for you within a day or two. And don't worry - we'll give you plenty of notice!

Hi everyone,

The date of the upgrade has been set! We will close the board around 6pm (Pacific Time, UTC -8) of Saturday, September 3rd, and you should expect MLA to be unavailable at least through the end of Sunday, September 4th, and possibly Monday the 5th as well. This is a big upgrade and it will require a lot of checking to make sure everything is working properly after it's done.

If you haven't yet registered there, PLEASE do so as soon as possible so you won't be stuck without a place to camp while MLA is down. And if you are registered but haven't logged in recently, please do so sooner than later, just to be sure you have access.

We will post updates on the progress of the upgrade at the Motel, and will be sure to be there as much as we can to answer any questions you may have.

I agree Francis...and it is a holiday weekend here in the states...when i have MORE time to visit....Luckily i am all registered in the motel and getting the lay of the land there.

Think of the Motel as your MLA home away from home... where you can laze by the pool, hang out in the media room or the bar, swap stories, and speculate to your hearts' content, and someone else will clean the rooms and make the beds!

Previous visits to the Motel have inspired some fabulous fanfic, and I'm hoping that our brilliant writers will again be touched by the muses during their little vacation.

And don't forget, if you need your bathtub stocked with ice, or any other services, just let the concierge know.
