Well, not to argue with you that there were still SOME phone booths that were...booths. However, remember the 1978 Superman, where there was a big joke about Clark Kent rushing up to a pay phone to change into his Superman suit, and discovering it was one of those little half-walled open things?

Although, that's not to say that a gas station in a small town, even by '85, might not still have the old-style full booth outside.

Lucky, this was so well crafted! I loved Mick trying to calm Mrs. Turner but at the same time telling her not to ask more questions than she really needed to know. And also Mick describing Beth's actions over the phone was a small detail that made a big impact. He is quite intuitive.
