How much will it hurt Carl when he's presented with the truth? 
“Ok Mick, where is the suspect?” Carl asked looking around the squad room
“Carl, we need to talk” Mick said leading him into an empty office. “Carl, Dominique is not who she says she is” Mick began
“What are you talking about Mick?” Carl asked.
Mick laid a heavy file down in front of him.
“Her real name is Michelle Rubin. She’s a black widow Carl. She’s been married 3 times and she’s killed all three of her husbands. She assumed the identity of Dominique Sampson when they were both in a car accident. Dominique died” Mick said.
Carl sat still and stared at Mick. Then he picked up the folder and read through the evidence.
“You’ve got to be kidding me?” he muttered placing the folder back down on the desk.
“Carl, I know you care about this woman….” Mick began to say but Carl stopped him.
“Mick. Don’t. Okay? Let’s just go and pick her up” Carl said walking out the door. Mick knew that his friend was hurting and he also knew that there was nothing that he could do. He slowly shook his head and followed Carl out of the station. Carl said nothing as they drove back to Dominique’s house. When they pulled into the driveway Carl looked at Mick.
“She might try and make a run for it. Make sure you stop her.” Carl said and got out of the car.
Dominique saw Carl get out of the car and she ran to open the door.
“Is it all over?” she asked in a hopeful voice. Carl walked up to her.
“Yes. It’s all over.” Carl said softly. “Michelle Rubin, you’re under arrest for the murder of Judge Henry Malkin. You have the right to remain silent” Carl said as he walked towards her. Dominique quickly ran into the house and shut the door. She ran into the kitchen and out the back door but Mick was standing there blocking her way. She threw a desperate swing but Mick caught her arm and led her back into the house where Carl was waiting with two more officers.
Dominique looked over at Carl.
“Carl this is just a horrible misunderstanding! You’re making a mistake! My name is Dominique!!” she screamed as the officers placed the handcuffs on her and led her out to the squad car.
Carl watched but said nothing. Mick came up slowly behind him. He knew that anything he said would be wrong, so he walked past his friend and got in his car and drove away.
