That face off -- or is it a growl off? -- with the bear may be one of my favorite Jason pictures EVER. :happysigh:

Here's a little something else to start the week...

Apparently, it's just work, work, work on that set.

I really really wish I lived closer so I could check out the scenes and be an extra. The whole process of arranging such things via facebook and interacting with fans, and also giving plenty of spotlight to the backstage guys (!!!) and not just the star cast all make you feel like you're part of it :)

I hope the people I emailed about articles finally reply- I want to help spread the word. I think this can be a good inspiration for other young filmmakers.
That was an awesome idea you had. :flowers: And yes, the guys have been so wonderfully accomodating to everyone. It's been so much fun, and so interesting to follow the film process. :twothumbs:

I've just been looking at the pictures of JD in this thread, and then looking at everyone's avatar and banner pics of JD as Josef. Has anyone else noticed this guys uncanny ability to almost change the entire structure of his face when he acts? Alex does the same thing. Jason to Josef to Elliot Knight to *insert whoever else*, even taking into account a difference of age between the times the roles were played, they all look like different people, like there's something physically different about each character that separates them away from JD as the actor. I mean obviously I know it's the same person, I can see the resemblance, but at the same time it's like, not, if that even makes sense? I wish I knew what the correct word for this was? The ability to present an illusion of facial feature manipulation when playing a role. It's a very rare gift, and Jason does it so beautifully. :happysigh:

He--and Alex--are true actors. They lose themselves in their roles, and make the characters come to life.

I know Jason has played several "spoiled rich kids" in his time, and I think there are probably those who wonder if he's somewhat like that, but I can tell you, he is about as far from Logan Echolls, to name one example, as it's possible to be.

One thing that stands out, with both Jason and Alex, is that they have had dramatic training. And if they make it look easy, it's because of the work they put in behind the scenes.

I have noticed this before too. If you line up RL pictures of Jason next to Josef in character or pictures from Party Down or Body Politic, they all look like different people. I think it's an amazing talent. He is such a talented actor and I hope that this latest project gets him the accolades and future parts that he deserves.

I've never met Jason and I do plan to in the future. I have been told by a lot of people that he is far from his bad boy character on VM and that's what I like to hear because no one likes a jackass - even if he's adorable. :teeth:

Hope, I hope you get the chance sometime, because he is one of the nicest people you would ever have the good fortune to meet. Always gracious, and never gives the impression he's just being polite....he truly interacts with his fans. I could go on about what a sweetheart he is for hours.

(She really could, you know.)

But she's right. Jason Dohring is one of those rare individuals who can turn the rest of the world off when they're in a conversation with you. He makes you feel that, for those few moments, you, and what you have to say, are of utmost importance. He focuses in on you with those intense eyes, and he listens to you, and he responds thoughtfully. It's an amazing experience.

She only says that because she's heard it...repeatedly. :flowers:

However, a picture being worth a thousand words, this may illuminate. It's a pic taken by our dear AggieVamp at the Houston Comicpalooza, of Jason interacting with a fan (*blush* me....). I cropped out the back of my head...but it's a great illustration of the attention he pays to people.

Preaching to the choir here, hon... :snicker:

This isn't exactly related to the movie, but it might be of interest to anyone in the area.

Nick Kocher tweeted last night:

Attention Fort Worth, Texas! BriTANicK is doing a live show inside you, THIS SUNDAY at 9pm!! More details to come... #fb
about 22 hours ago via Twitter for iPhone

Followed by Brian on Facebook:

Brian McElhaney BriTANicK's doing some sketch, some stand-up, and maybe some Eagles Are Turning People Into Horses in Ft. Worth, Texas! Sunday! 9 PM! Celebrity surprise guests! More info in a minute!

There hasn't been any further word on the details of their show, but I'm rather intrigued by the "Celebrity surprise guests" part. :chin: Who knows?

I really want to go back to Texas.
