mwj--Wow, I hadn't thought of that. It is a distinct possibility that he could be guest starring as a springboard for a future headlining role on his own show. The only drawback to that theory is that it would mirror Dexter too much, and CBS has that show already, however, they could be doing a Dexter Lite version, or a redeemed killer who helps solve crimes?

At this point, anything is a possiblity.

I seem to remember that when CSI was being cast for the new Character after Grissom left there were rumors floating around that he would be a guy with a Serial Killer gene that made him understand criminal behavoir better or something like that.But it never showed up on CSI,Maybe CBS put it with CM instead And with the Mark Gordon connection well....Things that make you go hmmmmmm?????

I confess, I hadn't heard anything about a CM spin-off. The only spin-off I'd heard of that has apparently been green-lit is the NCIS one.

My company doesn't do development deals with actors, we produce or distribute television shows. But one time we used the same actor for several specials and a series because he was so reliable and easy to work with.

I cannot WAIT to see what Alex is going to look like in this ep! Will he be showing off the tats? Will he have short hair, long hair...shaved head? Will he be an absolute psychopath or a charming killer? Will he wear glasses? Will he be shirtless at all? Who is he killing?

Oh ladies, I've been reading through this thread and I have to say that Dreamer planted the seed in my head yesterday on VLF about this episode being a springboard for his new show.

My mind immediately went to the Mark Gordon connection, the Criminal Minds spin-off that was mentioned some time ago, Alex saying he was feeling 'adventurous' on his MS page and not to mention, that this episode is airing late April...with the upfronts just a few weeks away in May.

Don't forget how gushy he was in interview about Dexter either. Nor the fact that this episode is supposed to be seen from the killer's POV...lots to speculate about in this little snippet from Ausiello isn't there?

Hey MM! Good to see ya here! I had those same thoughts and was telling a friend earlier that he sounded so upbeat in his recent MS blog that surely it means there's more in the works! Not to mention all the activity on his MS page, as if he's prepping for something. Who knows? Of course we want MORE but for now I'm just thrilled we don't have to wait until fall to see his lovely visage again!

Yeah, Dreamer planted the seed and I ran with it! I've since put my theory forth on MLD as well and Midnight Louie picked up on it as well. Before you know it, we'll have an entire show written around Alex's serial killer on CM- and have him winning an emmy into the bargain! Glad to know I wasn't the only one who's mind ran in that direction.

Of course, I realise it sounds highly improbable, but you have to wonder don't you?...

It does all seem to fit together, and if it doesn't, I believe something else starring him will be in the works.
It always seems like those of us in the ML universe are constantly waiting. We corner the market on waiting!

For: The writer's strike to be over.
A decision to be made about if there will be more eps other than the initial 12
Whether or not the series will return
Will there be a dvd?
etc., etc., etc.
Another in a long line of waits for us!!

Yes, we wait, but this time there is a difference...we know that the episode is in April, so at least the wait won't be too long. As for the possible future discussed in this thread, it is plausible, and if it is to be, we'll know about it in the May upfronts.....again, not too terribly long from now.
