Think about it this way. It was a totally unnecessary scene. This was a very low budget film. Do we really think they would have used up money to have a body double and then pay to have someone paint on tattoos to match Alex's?? I think Alex was more than capable and more than fit enough to do those scenes. Just my opinion though.

I think mwj and I have figured out where the body double came in! It's for the very last scene of Feed. I won't explain what it is for the sake of those of you who haven't seen the movie and still plan to. But suffice it to say, there's NO WAY Alex, as himself, could have pulled that off, thus the need for the body double. The man's a chameleon, but he's not THAT good.
