Oh, thanks JIMS! I will amend my above statement and say that I will probably give Vampire Diaries a shot. What can I say, I'm a sucker for vampires! :snicker:

Yeah, I will be checking out Vampire Diaries. I watched the clips on that same site as the BP clips...and I've got to say it looks like they cast the "good vamp" to look as much like RPatz as possible. (Okay, I thought the actor playing the "evil vamp" was far cuter.) But yeah, overall it sure seems like Twilight lite. If that's possible.

Have to say, I doubt it will be the love affair for me that Moonlight is...but then again, I basically tuned in to ML for that first ep, because, what the heck, it was vamps.

I'll check it out, but it won't be anywhere near the same :sigh: I'm not as much into the "teen angst" shows, and that's what CW does best....

I need to check out the clips for VD I guess. A lot of people are saying it looks good, so we'll see.

Sorry ladies about The Body Politic. I saw the video and liked Charlie, but doubt I would have liked the show. I think that chick would have annoyed me. But still, it was Jason, and I know you Josefite ladies would have lapped it up, and even though I'm a diehard Alex girl, I find Jason hard to resist, so I know I would have loved his character. (I could see the Logan-longing-for-Veronica looks just in the small clips we saw there. :sigh: )

I know it's a platitude, but it's a very true one; for every door that closes another one opens. It became my mantra after I realised Moonlight wasn't coming back.

Let's hope that Jason gets a great opportunity soon, a lead role that ensures he's never out of work again. :comfort:

I will watch to see cuz I like vamps; but Jason really would have spiced up any of those shows, IMO.

Thanks, Moonmad. I actually liked Minka's character better than Kristen on VM - As much as I love Logan, could never see the chemistry between J and KB.. :tomato:

Oh well. No matter now. But, I agree..I'd love to see J in a leading man role, like Alex..an ensemble cast that works around him. He's ready..and his time will come..soon!!

We're not the only ones who recognize Jason's talent. Maybe if articles like this continue, there might be a shot for midseason after all. :fingerscrossed:
'Body Politic': The best pilot you won't see next season

By Rick Porter

May 22, 7:29 AM

The CW picked up four new series for next season this week, and they all seem to fit in with the network's existing shows and mission to attract young female viewers.

That's all well and good. But in focusing so intensely on the flow of its schedule and its narrow target audience, the network may have passed on the best pilot it had, a drama called "Body Politic."

A couple caveats here: I haven't screened any full pilots yet, so my opinions are based on a limited amount of script reading, trailers and preview clips and what I've been able to gather from the pilot-season chatter leading up to this week's upfronts. And the consensus on "Body Politic," which is about a young congressional staffer ("Friday Night Lights'" Minka Kelly) and her friends working on or around Capitol Hill, is that it's pretty darn good.

How good? Take a look at these clips from the pilot, which also stars Gabrielle Union, Jason Dohring, Jenny Wade and Jay Hernandez (and, though not seen in the clips, Brian Austin Green and Tim Matheson as Kelly's senator father). The writing (Jason Rothenberg and Bill Robinson created the show) feels pretty sharp, and the cast was one of the better ones assembled this pilot season.

I don't want to knock the choices The CW did make -- the network had a pretty strong pilot season, and the four shows it picked up look either pretty decent ("The Vampire Diaries" and "Parental Discretion Advised") or at least like natural fits with current series ("Melrose Place" and "The Beautiful Life"). And there's a chance, however slight, that "Body Politic" could still find a home. Dawn Ostroff, The CW's entertainment president, didn't close the door completely on the show when I asked her about its chances (though of the pilots the network didn't pick up, the "Gossip Girl" spinoff is more likely to get a midseason spot).

Failing that, it also feels like a show that could work on ABC (though its schedule for next season is probably crowded enough) or perhaps a cable channel like TNT. But I'm not getting my hopes up.

Every pilot season ends with potentially strong shows getting tossed onto the scrap heap. Having seen some evidence that "Body Politic" could have been a very good show, though, makes its demise a little harder to take.

From the clip, it seems that Jason is this old soul amongst teenagers. I know, I know...it's the CW, but I don't get that with Supernatural. Sam and Dean act their ages and it doesn't come off as a teen show.

Maybe it was the way that one girl was talking or acting that got on my nerves....I dunno. I hope it gets picked up for mid-season though and does very well!! Jason looks AMAZING on it!
