I agree with you, Red... weirdly statue-esque. But that video of this shoot taking place even had a weirdly non-lifelike quality to it... so it must be on purpose? For some reason??

I haven't managed to see that video (all the links I've found haven't worked for me ) - I have no idea what the reasoning could be. If it were anyone but CBS I'd just assume they knew what they were doing...

thanks - they do look a wee bit stiff, but I remember seeing a video of these being shot....they're all done against a blank background so that these shots can be superimposed whereever. An example is the billboards some lucky people have in their cities advertising 3R.

ITA, Red. These pics look very weird to me. Not at all appealing. Even with Alex in them, they just don't appeal.

They have a funny way of trying to advertise their show IMO.

Man, I thought I was the only one who hated these pics. LOL They make even Alex look bizarre and that's dang near impossible! Someone in some blog talked about the cooler pics and CBS not using them. I agree, it just looks stupid. Also, the thing that's bothering me the most...the cast looking upwards. What the frig are they looking at?!

Sesly, CBS, GET A CLUE! Make your stars attractive in promo pics!

I'm glad they seem to be doing more with Three Rivers than they did Moonlight, but it seems they cannot do anything interesting. Quality over quantity, CBS. Sigh...will they ever learn?

ITA. And... Daniel Henney is still in the tight, unrealistic "scrubs"?! Why????

I got the impression that "looking heaven-wards" was supposed to make them seem more "spiritual or god-like"..kinda like the pose with Alex's hands in a prayer. That was my take, anyway...who knows?

The prayer pic is bothering me. I'm not much for displaying acts of religion for the sake of the promotion of a drama. It's just too fake in my opinion, Alex plays a doctor and not a priest.
