Re: Three Rivers - news, links, discussion - part 9 **SPOILERS**
I feel bad for him that this article ties his personal life to his career like it does ("The consolation for his break up..."). I doubt he sees it this way (other than to acknowledge the toll it took on his personal life), so to have his brand new series wrapped up inside his Holly break up as the main angle for the article is probably not what he was expecting when he answered that question. But then again, she's the better known celebrity down under, apparently, so maybe he did. Is this a gossip-type rag?

No. The 3 newspapers are the major newspapers of our major cities -Brisbane (The Courier Mail), Sydney (The Telegraph) and Melbourne (Sun-Herald). And I think the articles were in the TV section rather than the gossip papers.HotMicks wrote: Is this a gossip-type rag?
Our papers have generally used Holly in their articles because she is the better known of the two. Most people in Australia know Holly Valance whereas the only people who know Alex are his family and us ML fans!!

I knew Holly before I knew Alex. She was on Prison Break and I'm a big fan of that show. She was a pop singer and on a major show in Australia. She's definitely the more well-known of the two there. Here, I'd say neither one are seriously well-known, but Alex is definitely on his way.

In Alex's latest blog, he talks about hoping to get the order for the back 9, in other words, the go ahead for a full season (~22 episodes).
While it's still early in the season, NBC has given 'back 9 orders' to 'Parks and Recreation', 'Community' and 'Mercy', the latter being one of two new medical dramas NBC debuted this season. The second medical drama 'Trauma' didn't get the 'back 9 order'.
See the story at NBC back 9 orders
I take this as heartening in that the networks aren't backing away (entirely) from medical shows and that 'Mercy' has slightly poorer numbers than 3R, and without the football overruns and baseball playoff issues.....
Anybody have any ideas when CBS is going to issue their short list?
ETA - CBS ordered full season for NCIS LA and The Good Wife, but I honestly don't know what this means for 3R just yet. With only three episodes aired and an unusual amount of sports competition, I'm not sure it's been given a fair chance.

That must be why he requested me to make him a friend! He did, I guess, because I belong to the TR board. I did make him a friend, but I had no idea who he was. Thanks for clearing that up, red.
Did this happen to anybody else?

I kind of feel bad for him. His storyline is being totally messed up by all the episode switching. He's the first story (that we know of) that spanned episodes.

Me too! He's had numerous posts about upcoming appearances but then had to go back and tell everyone that the schedule's changed. Fingers crossed for Nov 1st...r1015bill wrote:I kind of feel bad for him. His storyline is being totally messed up by all the episode switching. I will be upset if it doesn't show Nov. 1st. That's "Alone Together" where we finally meet Andy's wife. I NEED BACKSTORY.

FWIW...the sixth game between the Angels and the Yankees has been postponed due to rain, so the 3R episode 'Good Intentions' is playing now on the east coast without competition from the game.

Yeah, but the problem is that Game 5 (the final game) of the American League playoffs has been rescheduled for Sunday night. So now, not only will TRs be in competition with SNF and DH, it has to content with the final playoff game between the Yankees and the Angels. We are so screwed!
